****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Few quickies.think I have now rooted?can anyone suggest a way for me to know for definite that it's remained rooted as I reflashed stock ke7 using Odin after.
1. Now that I've rooted,what are the advantages.any suggestions?
2. Anyone know of a way to freeze social hub?
3. Any ways to improve battery life following root.not that I'm complaining, just would be a bonus if there was.

Cheers for any help guys

Wow loving the S II. Got it from T-Mobile store in Bristol on Saturday. Tried to set-up Samsung's phone tracking but the ability to add a Samsung account to the phone wasn't available in the T-Mobile branded installed Rom. Flashed a the KE7 Rom using Odin and the option was then available so not have Dive set-up.

Saw there was an app for network unlocking the phone. After rooting the phone I installed and ran the app. It gave an all zero code which suggested phone was already unlocked. Tried a 3 sim in the phone and it was indeed unlocked. So result. Now have a totally unlocked phone. Well pleased.

Basically can all be answered with this:

Get the paid for version of Titanium Backup off the market. Freeze social hub, wifi sharing and any other apps that you don't use but that suck battery life.

Why bother getting the paid version?? The normal free one will let u know if u have root and it will also freeze apps??

You can also try Root Explorer.

Ahh my bad, I haven't frozen apps with Titanium only Advanced Task Killer, which I paid for. But you can definitely check if your rooted with Titanium

Strange since i rooted this as I didn't bother when KE7 came out, rooted it yesterday and the battery life seems terrible barely got a day with light use.

Are any of you using the Facebook mobile touch site instead of the app?

I am and I can't update my status or post comments/messages. I can type in the field, but pressing comment/send/post doesn't work, the screen just remains with the text there.

So yeah, just gave titanium a go and I'm guessing that if it's working fine I'm rooted right?
Anyways, have gotten rid of all the horrible samsung apps, but like you guys have saud, can't freeze unless I pay for the plus version. I was just wondering about wifi sharing. What exactly is it. If I froze it what functionality would I lose. Is it related to tethering?
Also, is there any other way of freezing it. Don't really fancy paying £4.50 just for that privilege though, anyway of doing it without paying for pro version?

Yes it is related to tethering, it turns your phone into wifi hotspot, don't delete if unless you really don't want to use it as i did and was unable to install it back even from the backup i had.

I very much like GoLauncher but its a teeny-tiny bit laggy I think, certainly doesn't seem as smooth as LauncherPro overall... though its pretty close :p

I really like the app draw mostly, can I get that without it or not?

would like to know this too as the only reason i use go over lp is the app draw, other then that lp is pretty much just as good and also has good pro widgets.

I find all the launchers a tiny bit laggy none of them are as smooth as TW4, but I tend to use Launcher pro as its the best or the rest for me.

Going to reset my phone today or reflash as my battery is down to lasting 15 hours with light use and it was fine until I rooted.

Was wondering is there an app that can save how I have setup the homescreen, lockscreen etc? As I assume that if I have to factory reset or something I will loose all the custom stuff I have done?
