****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

It's on the router info page I think it says WNDR3700 or WNDR3700v2. If you had it for a year or more then its a v1

Can someone do me a HUMUNGOUS favour. I'm an embarrassment to mankind and only gone and deleted the default messaging app using Antek App manager. I need a rooted user to use the backup function of Antek and send me the apk of the messaging app. :o

I have tested my wifi strength against a LG Optimus 2X (which had better wifi strength than my desire) and the SGS2 performs very similar to the LG - just slightly weaker. Tested up to 15m away

Router is d-link 615 running dd-wrt

I'm sat 7 feet from my dlink router, my desire is a 54mbps and the galaxy s2 is at 39 :/

Try testing with speedtest.net or similar app (both phones), my SGS2 also showed much worse signal than Asus netbook but the data transfer speed - while clearly slower at any distance - was not THAT much slower as the difference in reported signal quality suggested.

Do you really need to ask that? Surely you must know that you have a fantastic deal there, you are essential paying half of what most of us are for similar packages...

There is another thread dedicated to cases/accessories, but the official Samsung case is a good start.

Just thought I would ask!

Still looking to get a 32GB microSDHC card for mine. I've narrowed it down to either SanDisk (class 2, and though it seems SanDisk cards do exceed their ratings, from what I've read it doesn't quite match the Lexar in speed) or Lexar (class 10). I can get the SanDisk for ~£45, and the Lexar for ~£60.

Has *nobody* else got a 32GB card? Anyone? Just wondering if anyone with one of these cards could share their thoughts.

Hmm from a quick search, I can see a Sandisk 32GB Class 4 Micro SD, £42.95 from from a Jersey based memory retailer.

I don't have the Sandisk but recently got the Lexar class 10 (though 16gb rather than 32gb) and it's nowhere near the speed I was expecting. According to SD Tools it averages about 20MB/s read and 6MB/s write. It's OK, but I was expecting a bit more writing speed. Still, it's fast enough for recording 1080p without any obvious missing frames or jumping. :)

Conversely, my 3 or 4 year old 8GB Sandisk class 4 in my Desire gets 20MB/s read and 12MB/s write.

Is there a way to change the default virtual keyboard when texting? I find it hard to type fast and it's rather annoying!

And is there a way to create folders for apps? Because I've nearly filled all 7 screens with apps and I hope that isn't my limit lol

What's the best app to customise the home screen? I want a picture for the home screen that doesn't stretch when you change through the different pages.

Bought the 16GB Sandisk Class 2 from Amazon for £15 (cheers again Robbie for the link!) and I get 12.7MB/sec read & 6.5MB/sec write. Chuffed for the price, more than fast enough for 720p vids (and the 1080p ones I've tried) :D
