****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Hmm no luck. I've reflashed to the BOKE3 firmware and kernel, but it still gets stuck in an endless reboot. It displays the T-Mobile animation, then the Galaxy S2 animation, before rebooting.

So what I did to break things:
-Installed KE7 firmware
-Installed ChainFire kernel
-Tried to root using SuperOneClick but got stuck "Running psneuter"
-Suggestion in thread suggests factory resetting after flashing with "*2767*3855#" in the dial pad
-Since then I have not been able to boot

Back to my Desire HD until I can figure this out :(

So at this point you had a booting phone or not?

Again, if you're having issues with SuperOneClick don't use it. Use CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEU_KE7-v3.5-CWM3 and no need for anything else.

Other than that, maybe a low level firmware will fix your bootloading. I9100XWKDF as below has separate csc etc. Try that, if it boots put KE7 and CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEU_KE7-v3.5-CWM3 over it.

Thanks for your advice fornowagain.

Up until the point of rooting resetting my phone, everything was working fine.

Would you be able to provide a download link to the low level firmware that I need to install? I'm assuming that once I've downloaded it, I unzip it and make the same selections as you have in your screenshot then just whack start?

Apologies for the questions, this is unfamiliar territory for me :)

tried the at no led app.... wow that sucks, it seemed to take an age to wake the device, just get a tiny pink pixel on the screen... does not seem to like my phone

It's pointless, since the whole point of an LED is having it blinking without the screen on. Just set SMS reminders in your SMS app that will remind you periodically with either vibrations or sound.

Well I think I must have set some kind of record for the Android OS bug as its sat at 64% this morning :(

I hope the update comes out quickly and it solves this issue as its gona be a PITA to do a factory reset on this thing :(

have you tried going into boot menu volume up + power+ home, try a factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalveric cache.

I only suggest this as I had similiar issues with a custom rom and this sorted it for me I then reflashed and it worked for me.

why not try a custom rom I am currently using lightning 1.1 which comes rooted then all you need to do is flash the ke7 kernel over to get rid of yellow exclamation.

Not sure the differences if your phone is locked on a network mind.

In the meanwhile, I've found turning Data off to be the most effective way of dealing with the Android OS bug. Whereas before my phone would die out after only a few hours, this weekend I went away for a wedding and it lasted nearly 40 hours....but the lack of data/gps was a pain. I also turned all syncing off after my phone once again decided to upload 40mb of data for some unknown reason. Reset time :D

i had this problem, i solved it by setting my notifications ring tone in settings - sounds (from the launcher, NOT messaging).

I then set the text ring tone from messaging - settings - ring tone to the same.

I then changed the default notification back i think...

Was some thing like that just have a fiddle and send your self a txt to test it :)
thats sorted it thank you

How can I arrange the icons of the apps, when I hold one icon I can place them on the home screens but I can't change them on the apps screens

Is there a way to display arbitrary text on the lock screen?

IE: "Lost? Call 123456789"

As I tend to leave my screen locked but liked the way I could have "Owner" text on the lock screen with a BB.

Just create a wallpaper with the info and set it for the lock screen.
