****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Does this phone have an IR port? I can't see one.

Just thinking how awesome it'd be to use it as a TV/DVD remote control as well.

Just got my S2 today! Wow its bigger than i thought, makes my San Fran look small:/

First thing, i plugged it in (turned off) to charge it up. The screen lights up with a battery icon in the middle, but ater about 20 seconds this dissapears and no other lights are on to let me know it is actually charging as opposed to being sat there and not charging.

Is this normal? Usually phones have some indictaor even when switched off that it is infact charging?

Also, the backplate.. flimsy?! Is there a market here for aluminium aftermarket back plates?

The backplate is flimsy looking but there's a video on YouTube of a guy bending it and it looks pretty much indestructable, although I haven't put it to the test myself.

Is there a way of taking apps and shortcut icons off my background panes without deleting the whole pane and having to start again?

Is anyone else getting a weird issue where the icons for some apps are dissappearing from the launcher? I'm using GO Launcher so it could well be an issue with that, but for example Battery Graph has dissappeared and can now only be found in "Recent" app section... it's nowhere to be found on the main page. Odd.

Shame really as it would have been a nice extra to be able to customise it to control HiFi/TV etc. Ultimate multifunction remote. :p

There is a remote application in Samsung apps (QWERTY remcom) which can control Samsung equipment. I use the Galaxy Tab version with my Samsung TVs/

I had a lot of crashes with go launcher but nothing like that

Just had an interesting issue there now. Was doing a bit of light web browsing over wifi (bbc) & had just finished a game of Angry Birds when I noticed the Active Apps indicator was red & indicated low battery in red even though the phone is has 96% charge on it. The indicator came good within a few seconds and a restart seems to have fixed it. Anyone had this?
