****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Also, you can forget Jailbreak tinkering on an iPhone. What a royal pain in the arse that is.

Some of the JB apps are decent, but the majority of it is useless stuff and to modify the actual files you have to spend ages farting about SSHing things.

Hey leave Robbo alone, I asked him in here (hardly worth making a whole new thread)

I got a answer I understand and am happy with.

Tinkering.. I used to tinker loads with gadgets etc, Now I really cba with it. I just want a phone that works firstly as a dam good phone.. and all the apps etc are a added bonus.

Will see if I can wangle a 32gb out of voda.. if not then this phone on the best deal I can find it is :p

That pretty much describes the iPhone.

Again this is personal taste but I find the actual phone software itself (the contacts book and dialer, etc) the best on the iPhone too.

In that case, an iPhone or Android handset might not even be what you need. I don't mean that in a sarcastic or snide way, just that there are better devices out there if you want a proper phone above everything else.

i kind of agree with you on this one but i find it had to not want to tinker when you see new stuff happening on android phones. i can't imagine what my hero would be like if it stuck with the standard 1.5 version htc homescreens (can't remember what they call it now) as LP is so great and i love a few additions such as play music whilst the phone is locked, added quick connection settings on notification bar etc. no tinkering means it should always work, but it means it'll always be the same and miss out on new ideas to improve how it works which is too important to me. i really do with my hero was a little less **** though :p

i always hope if htc have anything decent to offer it will be due for release in may as well

Anyone got cheapest websites prices for pre-order sim-free?

A few of the big players are all doing it for £499.99, Play, Expansys and so on.

edit:

What I've done is Expansys and gone through Quidco meaning I get £25 back, Play will result in £15 back I think via Quidco. I emailed Expansys about delivery and it will be delivered from supplier not them, so fingers crossed it will be one of the first arriving at doorsteps in the UK.

First phone and version of Andriod thats making me think about putting down my iP4 and picking up one of these, think I just want a change as well.

Wonder how much I would get for my iP4 lol

Stupid question...can I assume its mSim size and when bought at stock I can jsut put my O2 sim into it?

As much as this phone looks pure awesomeness, I can't help wishing they-d upped the rez like manzy other Android phones are at the moment... even the 960x540 of the Motorola Atrix and HTC Sensaiton would have been a good improvement. I think it's the only flaw of this otherwise spec-perfect phone. Well, besides lack of Xenon flash of course. ;)

It is normal SIM sized, only the i4 is MICRO-SIM. You can use an adapter though.

I can't be certain but the Samsung Galaxy was a regular SIM size, and I can't see why a bigger phone would have the microSIM. I was always of the though the iPhone had a mSIM due to the lack of removable battery, and Apple being Apple.

Ahh good enough.

Wondered about the rez but being a bigger screen and all, and the quality of the are ment to be amazing..might wait it out and have a look before selling anything!

Also is their a chance the price drops on these faster?

Only thinking is if the iP5 is announced soon the resale on my iP4 can take a hit.

I got £450.00 for an iPhone4 about two weeks ago-ish. It was perfect, box perfect, jailbroken and with three and a bit months left on the warranty. I think now is a good time if you're thinking about selling the ip4.

Mine got a couple of tiny knocks on it tho thats the problem, but was thinking "well sure im gonna hold onto this phone for a couple of years anyways"...damn it...

Now that the Sensation is official although I love the Sense UI I think the Sammy will be a far better phone! But damn both are sexy phones!

Tough decision! Lower resolution vs Higher resolution, plastic vs aluminium, TouchWiz vs Sense, No notification light vs notification light!

Sammy excels in battery, USB OTG, better ram, better on board storage, thinner, weighs less, better front facing camera, perhaps better audio.

HTC excels with a higher res, 2 LED for flash, better build, instant capture! Although weighs heavier I have a feeling it will feel better in the hand, love my DHD's weight feels sturdy!

Price.... £499.99 for a 16GB on board phone is well, HTC who knows yet!

Decisions!!
