****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I turn my phone off and charge it while I'm sleeping, and when it's fully charged it vibrates, which ALWAYS wakes me up. Is there any way of stopping it from doing that? It's very annoying.

I use Timeriffic to disable notifications/system sounds overnight. Works fine.

Don't think so, only the theme mods as they're deodexed etc.

Create a CWM backup beforehand of course!

I feel stupid, I only just discovered that if you go into contacts, then swipe across the person's name, it calls them. Not sure how it picks which number it uses as I've only used this on contacts with one number.

Before that, I was going into the contact details and then hitting the call button...

As I'm in no great rush to change just yet, am I right in just waiting for Android updates (like 2.3.4) to resolve a lot of these issues with battery life (Android OS bug (is it a dual core thing?)) and data usage that seem to be present in 2.3.3 before taking the plunge?

I'm quite curious as to when what 2.3.5 will fix and ofcourse when that might appear.

Other than a few faulty units it does seem that the hardware is solid and it's just the software holding it back. (had a look at the HTC sensation but it's just not doing it for me)

2.3.4 is rumored to be out around the 10th according to someone on xda who spoke too a Samsung rep, if its true is another thing.

Do we know if it will fix the dual-core/Android OS usage issues that people seem to be having that's killing peoples battery life?
I'm sure there's bound to be someone who's managed to get it and be testing already.

Put your phone on silent like everyone else :)

The phone's off when charging, so I can't put it on silent :D

Would do, but don't think that'll work if the phone's off.

AFAIK this is automated behaviour and I don't know if it's part of the ROM or something deeper :(

Villain ROM Dev created VR Tweaks which has many tweaks you can enable, one of which is this.

You are awesome :) I will try that out, thanks :)

Other thing is it'll take netoworks ages to release this also.

Surely that's one of the main reasons to flash/debrand your phone, as you 'should' I'm guessing be able to get it as soon as it's released.
Though I do get slightly confused between people talking about updating firmware and flashing standard Android OS sometimes.

Me to I'll be an android virgin :o

Think I'm just worried I **** it up :P It does look simple enough. then I see someting like the CF root firmware for KE7 but in his XDA thread he sayd you need to be on the right firmware already does that mean I flash to the ke7 firmware then the CF root one?? or just go straight to the root one. I'm guessing orange will still be on ke2 atm?

So I want to switch to a new ROM but am not sure which is better the Litening rom or the Villain rom? I am leaning toward the litening rom as it has the blue theme which i prefer, can't seem to find screenshots of what the villian rom looks like though :(

So which one should I use?

Yes in one direction it calls the person and the other direction it opens the message screen.

I could not figure out how to dial a number as there are 5 tabs in Contacts and the left one with the keypad was hidden so what I did was add a contact just to call onetime, me is a dumbass :o

Also coming from an iPhone I am sometimes figuring out how to change stuff and go back as I forget there are two more buttons on the phone.

Has anyone used an app called "batterycalibration"?

Its on the marketplace.. and is supposed to delete the batterystats.bin file, creating a new one...

Has anyone on here used it? I'm hoping it might fix my "amazing battery" = "short battery life" over night.

Phone crashed 3 times within a 16 hour period of having widget locker... turn screen off and then it instantly wouldnt turn back on...

Looking at the battery stats it definately had crashed too as there could see a gap in signal/wifi

Since removing it my phone hasnt crashed in the last 24 hours (and hadnt before that point)

Still early days to make that conclusion yet... but for now i dont plan on using it!

Anyone know a different stable alternative lock screen?

Thanks (:
