****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

If I buy through a shop like chitter chatter there's no 7 day cooling off period like there is direct from T-Mobile. I'm wondering though if I'm going to be so happy with the phone that I shouldn't even worry about cooling off periods and just go for it. What do you think I should do, be patient and wait or go get one now? :p

Cooling off period is because the order is over the phone - long distance selling act - If you bought it in a t-mob store you wouldn't get that.

unlocked and unbranded @ chitter chatter is more important IMO.

Yeah sorry, I wasn't clear but that's what I meant, that I don't get cooling off periods in either chitter chatter nor the T-Mob shops.

I don't need unbranded or unlocked since I'll only ever be with T-Mob due to my employee call tariff.

So, I might just pop down to chitter chatter today and decide to take the phone there and then.

Rang T-Mobile last night and got the SGS2 on upgrade, but like other ppl was told they'd no stock atm. They said they experiencing huge demand for the phone and they were hoping to get a delivery soon, possibly next week. But hopefully they may get a delivery at 1pm then. Can't wait to get it and have a play now, my first android phone as well :D

Hey quick question about backing up before I flash to a new ROM. I have used CWM to backup and also used GO Launchers backup function but I am wondering will the CWM backup include the Widgetlocker setup I have?

Or is there a way to backup my Widgetlocker setup?

CWM has backed up your whole ROM, including WidgetLocker stuff, but you'll need to reflash the whole ROM to restore. To backup apps for use on a new ROM, use Titanium backup, it will backup both app and app data for later restoration.

Been ringing T-Mobile all week, almost everyday to get myself up near the top of the priority list. They said next delivery is friday, today. Rang twice this morning, still no deliveries but that I am on their waiting list, along with hundreds of others.
I then rang two T-Mobile shops, local and flagship oxford street, who've had emails from head office saying there won't be any available now for the whole company till July 1st. But T-Mobile on 150 have not heard that, so maybe it's just the shops.
I hope they get some in today and I hope mine gets sent out but I don't hold out much confidence tbh. :(

Well when my gf cancelled her order with t-mobile they told her that they weren't getting another delivery of the SGS2 for another month (this was yesterday), not sure how true this is as we were originally told sometime this week they were getting a delivery.

She ordered from buymobilephones.net, and got a much better deal with next day delivery.

i can get a much better deal direct with orange than anywhere else, so i just have to wait :(

they said it could be days or weeks, he couldnt tell me

Two things that are annoying me with this phone:

- The vibrate isn't that strong, I barely notice it sometimes.
- Standard ringtones aren't loud enough, I've yet to try making my own and ramping up the volume with Audacity.

Apart from that, all is good. Battery life is really improving over time. :)

I'm going to chitter chatter now to pick up the phone. They've got more than one in stock so I enquired for you paul but unfortunately they don't as yet do orange, only T-Mob. Sorry matey. :(

Vibration is strong!

Increase the feedback value in Android settings if the app you're using doesn't have built in vibration settings.

I have Vibration intensity all the way up in the "Sound" settings and I still don't reckon it's that great. Haptic feedback always feels strong but when the phone's in my coat pocket it's not as noticeable as the other phones I've had.

Hmm, I don't keep it in a coat pocket but even when it is it's quite obvious when it's vibrating! Although I don't wear heavily padded coats.

*touch wood* OK well it looks like launcher pro was the source of all my problems. Since removing it i've not had a restart. 66+hours and counting...

touch wiz isn't too bad so i'm happy enough

Since the last update, my Launcher Pro occasionally crashes. I'm thinking of trying Go Launcher now that I'm no longer using any of the LP widgets...
