****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Blimey, sorry matey, you wrote this 10 days ago and I only just saw it. Yes, for life. There was a time when he told me it would be for as long as he's an employee, but now he tells me it's for life. He also now tells me that T-Mobile might be stopping that perk altogether, but it won't affect me, as long as I keep payments regular on direct debit of course.

No probs. Half Price for Life - ain't it great - I'm on that too on 2 tarriffs :)

Has anyone heard of issues with the SGSII to the point of T-Mobile saying they have returned them all and are not expecting stock till mid July?

I just called T-Mobile to add a new phone to my account and was told the above!! Booo was looking forward to a new phone, the Desire I have had is getting on a bit ;)

No but I've heard of a sales technique called "bait n switch"

On two? Very nice. :)

Oh wow, I just discovered how to customise my home screen with widgets, shortcuts, etc, and dragging and dropping home screen items to the remove icon. Unbelievable technology and the screen is so nice to use, so super sensitive. I don't know how I stuck with my HTC Diamond for so long. Now I know how to get my calendar appointments where I need them. Can even move youtube to the home screen. You can do anything with this phone except make the tea. I think it even makes phone calls. :P Absolutely incredible! :D

Merlin's posts make me feel like I've time warped back a few years :o

:D

I know, I'm quite a bit behind the times really, lol. I've been living with fairly archaic technology for two years by comparison.:p

Btw, does anyone know how I can get that screen BEFORE the home screen to either stay on for longer or even how to remove it? You know, the screen that comes on when you press the home button after the screen display has turned itself off and then you drag that screen out of the way to show the home screen.

I can't recall seeing this in the last few pages, but has anyone else experienced the Google Maps application completely screwing over their battery during the day?

I've checked mine today and my phone has been active most of the afternoon without me actually doing anything and I saw on the battery status that the GMaps have taken quite a bit of juice (besides android OS).

So I had went into GMaps, turned off any of the checking in and had even signed out of latitude completely alas I still see the Maps app pop up about once a minute, stay awake for about 10 seconds. Rinse and repeat. :\

Anyone come across this?

The lock screen? :p

I don't think that can be removed, you can change it, but not remove it.

Yeah, it just occurred to me it's intended as a lock screen. :o Well in that case, is there a setting which keeps it lit for longer than 5 seconds? Also, how would I manually lock it whenever I need to before the home screen display goes off? I've currently got the home screen display time-out set to 2 minutes.

press the power button to lock it, that's pretty much standard on all smart phones. i dont know about changing the duration of the stock lock screen , but if you installed a lockscreen alternative such as Widget Locker then you'd be able to do it.

No Lock is handy. Especially with a case on the S2 as you can't accidentally unlock it so having to lose the slide to unlock step is a good thing for the time critical side in you :p

I have disabled the home button wake too via Villain Tweaks.

Few problems i have with this phone:
- Random reboots (twice now) for no reason
- Phone stops playing music (randomly sometimes) when the normal lock screen is used
- Lock screen is laggy
- No % on battery life? wth

When you say lock screen is laggy you mean the tome between say hitting the home button and a second delay before the screen comes on?...im still getting this, kinda annoying.
