Ive seen a few now with screen burn.. Id sent it back for a replacement though it seems to be happening more and more, just at various lengths of time for different people.

Ok, is it fair to say this this is stuff that we really shouldn't have to mod. I needed to take some important pics today and I couldn't, I can understand that the LED flash would be disabled on low battery but the actual camera is a joke.
I assumed it was just flash not the whole camera...

What about using a third party app for taking photos camera 360 for example?

I don't get why people are giving off about certain things not working the way they should or the way that they would like it to and then when someone suggests using a third party app, you get an answer you shouldn't have to with a £500 mobile, which I agree with in some ways but it is android, the whole purpose is choice and customization and every android mobile isn't perfect out of the box.

I have been noticing this in the last few pages of this thread, people posting problems, which are easily fixable by just simply installing an app e.g. widget locker and using resources, you have 1GB of RAM after all, which is more than enough, iirc widget locker only uses 14-16MB of RAM and will hardly impact performance of the mobile. Plus, it doesn't take that long to customize and set it up. And if you can afford a £500 mobile, you should be able to buy an app for a couple of pounds :p

If you want something out of the box that just works without having to do anything with third party apps, then the iphone 4 is the one to get, however if you want a powerful dual core then the HTC sensation would the next choice, although even the iphone 4 and the sensation will have some problems out of the box.

Please don't take it personally, I like customizing stuff, just not to fix simple functions that really shouldn't be broken in the first place. I have been customizing phones for a long time, just not android. I am using launcher pro for example on my GS2. Yes I know there are always gonna be custom apps which claim to be better etc and that is fair enough if they do.

Just one point is the lockscreen which is again total pants on the GS2. I like to have a pin lock at all times and find the pin lock screen is just a bit poo. So I tried wigetlocker after good reviews and initially thought great this is better, looks great, good customization, until I realised it doesn't include a pin lock. unless you use the standard one as well as widget locker and then that just defeats the object.

And its little things like this thats just getting on my nervs. I don't mean to moan. Just hoping for solutions that maybe I have overlooked.

Edit; Oh and another thing I have found is that if you use a pin lock, the music player stops playing after a few minutes, more stuff that should just work!

Out of curiosity, how in your mind could a pin-locker be better?

I have a pin on my GS2 and i can't see any way it could be better.

Ok, I'd like the same live wallpaper as my homescreen for one. I don't want an ok button to press after I have put my pin in. i'd like to be able to customize the size on the numbers etc.....

Stuff like that...

Lol, don't worry, I am not taking it personally :p

And that post wasn't just aimed at you, but to other people as well.

Unless you need LPP for the widgets, try go launcher out ;)

Ah, right fair enough if you need the security lock on, maybe there are some other lockscreens out there that provide that, GOTO lockscreen and lock bot are other alternatives to widget locker, although I do not know if they have any security lock at all.

What about using the pattern lock instead? Which I think is pretty decent.

Was in Perivale in London today and was getting full bars of HSDPA+ and stuff was loading as fast as stuff loads on WiFi at home. So certainly, in well networked areas cell performance is excellent :D

I have looked at some others but I like things to be pretty if that makes sense. The pattern lock I was using as I thought it was ok, downside is I found that the grease from constant sliding of the finger to unlock would show up on the glass and I thought it would be easy to figure out the pattern so I stopped using it. hehe

What contracts are people on here for the S2?

I managed to secure today...

£28.50 a month
500 minutes
5000 texts
1GB Net
Free Phone
3 Network
24 Month

Going to try drive the price down even more on Thursday with some discount codes (Aiming for 26.50/27 a month).

Curious to see if anyone has bagged better.

Don't be, they are pretty good.

Every single shop website on the internet has bad reviews, people don't tend to bother posting good ones.

They were doing the S2 for £25.74 a month on Vodaphone a week ago.. they seemed to have killed the deal though 500 mins / UNLIM texts / 500mb net.

Hmm I'm going to drive my price down to £25/26 I think, the guy on the phone seemed very friendly. Got his direct line etc, I'm buying Thursday for sure. Everyone on this thread seems pretty happy with the phone, been researching it for weeks.

Thanks to all those that have replied btw, just scoping out the deal a bit to see what else is out there in the mist.

Further to my recent woes with regards all the uploads from my phone, it seems that Vodafone couldn't care less about uploads. Despite my stats apps (both of them!) saying that I've sent more than 200mb of data in the last week, VF reckon my current data usage is 10mb. Go figure. Still going to reset my entire phone on Friday morning, 2.3.4 or not.
