****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

No worries - better than getting sim free IMO...effectively ending up with a decent 18 month contract foir £30 or £100 for the term. Buying sim free and using a sim only plan will be more expensive (unless you sell it within a couple of months)

PS CPW plans are absolutely attrocious :P Sim Free good price though.

Any idea if I order to store they'll have it there for collection on release day?

I for some reason had them releasing it on the same day as Phone4u, which is the 27th, but it doesn't seem they any release date on the site at the moment. I simply went for home delivery as it's next day not the 48hrs it quotes a store pick up. Never used CPW so not sure on how they "work" with such releases.

I would order one right now, but I just cant bring myself to hit buy what with it not being rooted yet.

I cant see the deals around now being bettered so its really killing me :(

Samsung officially replied to this question and it's been given the green light.
I can't see it not being picked up by the likes of the XDA, it's a hefty bit of kit, that seems to be a length ahead of any competitors effort.

Have you chaps ordered a case/screen protector yet? I had a trusty rubberised gel one for my hero.

I have a zagg on the old macbook; fancy one of them but they don't seem to sell the invishield for the s2 yet :(

any tips

Do you reckon in 6 months deals will be around the same price / cheaper or is it just best to spend now and get £150 trade in for my Desire. Cant decide although I'd LOVE to get my hands on one of these.

Have to decide today for that deal 2 pages ago.

I *hate* any contract over 12 months.

But, when you look at that buymobilephone one, it works out about 3 quid a month for 'unlimited' ( ;) ) internet.

The phone is 490ish everywhere - essentially you are getting that over 18 months interest free.

It will obviously come down in price in the future, but if you want that phone now, its 500 quid.

I think it is a brilliant deal.

It will be rooted and it will get excellent support due to it being the main Android flagship phone for this year more or less.

Dont worry about it.

Is the data allowance really unlimited? I thought T-Mobile were reducing all their data packages to 500MB?

Arggghhhhhhh, bit the bullet and ordered it, very foolish of me considering I have 6 months left on my old contract, but the money for selling my desire will cover that.

Cant wait, but also verrrrry angry at myself.

Might have to send it back under DSR if it isn't worth it :(

I'm currently a 3GB t-mobiler on my old contract. That ran out last year but I still am using it. I have a BARGAIN on that - some loyalty scheme they offer when you don't get a new phone from them. So good that I am keeping it. I will use that sim in the other halfs phone. All you can eat data and texts and 400 mins of voice for £5 a month ;)

As for the new contract, not sure - it states unlimited. My current 'unlimited' (!) is 3GB and in fairness, I have done 5-6GB on that, they text and moan and that's it :)
