Held my breath and put my order in with the Jersey based company, they where also doing some money off Micro cards so ordered a 16gb one for about £13 along side it.

Have to go put the iP4 on the bay now...hope for a decent sale to help pay for it!

Let us know how you get along with them as that's where I'll most likely be ordering from. Would be nice to know when you get a dispatch e-mail and what not. Cheers

Went into my local Carphone Warehouse yesterday too and asked the question do you know when you'll be getting them in (bearing in mind I know when they're expected to be released) and the bloke behind the til had absolutely no idea whatsoever, I laughed n walked out. Also offered me £139 as trade-in for my iPhone 3GS 32GB in great condition. Think I'll go on fleabay tbh

Well the pre-order is in with teh card, but havnt got any kind of email so far...do you not get anything if its a preorder?
 
You usually get an email on the day it's dispatched, so I imagine you'll get one on the 27th for delivery on the 29th
 
Ahh right...fair enough, cant see a delivery on the 29th tho...I find it more annoying its sitting in a hub somehwere down the road!

Have got an email saying I have to perform a security check!...what the hell?

You should get it this time next month then, they're not great with delivery.
 
I'm trying to decide on pre-ordering now or waiting until the end of the year and seeing if there are any deals around Christmas time.

As and when I get this, this will be my first smartphone (using a Nokia 2730 Classic atm).
 
I have two pre orders in and quickly considering cancelling the CPW one as their emails are horrendous. Not only does their email address in the initial email not work, on answering via a web ticket I've been advised the date of release on the site is obvious under coming soon section. Either five geeks have totally missed it or their sadly mistaken. On asking again they won't give me a date as it's clearly shown on the site. Cancelled order coming soon.
 
Asked in CPW, o2 and T-Mobile stores today and none of them could tell me when they were getting it. Most didn't even know if was due out... clearly well informed staff. Kind of annoying that they aren't aware when they are going to be getting possibly the biggest phone to be released this summer.

Nope, staff won't be interested unless it's the new Iphone since the amount of hype on a new Apple vs. another Android handset is pretty much nil. Since they make more money selling Iphone contracts and handsets then they'd still probably rathter sell one of those anyway. :)

It is absolutely insane that a phone company does not have knowledge of all the big hitters on the horizon.


If I ran that place, I would be all over the end user/supplier network with my knowledge. Particularly if it was a big hitter on the horizon.

The high street bricks and mortar outfits deserve all the failure they get :)

More money made with iPhone contracts? You sure about that? I thought Apple took a substantial cut.
