Galaxy s2 ics

Hi People, I have a galaxy s2 on Vodaphone through Phones4U.
I have read today that the ICS update won't be available to unbranded phones until august. I have looked at the guides for installing ICS and am not worried about voiding warranty etc. I would like to know if anyone can point me to the exact file I should use as I am i little confused after reading so many guides. My phone is not rooted. I would just like to make sure I am flashing the right version. Any halp is much appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, I'd say this is the easiest way to go :)

flash it with odin, job done. The your free to flash whatever you want via cwm (included with the rom)

Cheers Moley, but I have unbranded so it is not availabl to me yet. Just wondering if there is a way I can still flash it. Forgive my ignorance I am new to phone flashing.

Trust me you don't want to flash a bloat filled ROM onto your lovely unbranded phone :)

But if you want a completely stock Samsung experience/unbranded

Grab one of these from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487

I'm not sure what I9100BULPC is like from there but it says Vodafone UK, But I'd choose one of the unbranded ones. I should add even though they say they are for a different region they will work fine :)

just installed sensation, seems pretty nice however i have a few problems...


1. Email won't open..
2. Apex launcher keeps freezing
3. Is there anyway to disable the stupid annoying CRT effect?


Any Ideas?

Applications > email > clear cache

Reinstall Apex then go to Apex settings > about > check for update. Should be fine after that. If you don't get an option for a new version select beta from the setting above that.

Not sure about the CRT effect

Also in hydrogenics has anyone noticed its themed a bit weird in whatsapp? The text box where you type messages in has two weird lines at the bottom, to indicate the length of the box i suppose, but it just looks weird, any way to fix that? I would take a screenshot but i dropped back to checkrom, cheers.

The email app doesn't have any cache, the clear cache button is greyed out... It seems to be the problem with apex too, apex crashes if i open email...

Hmm odd

Did you do a full wipe before installing? You could try reflashing the ROM again & manually wiping cache & dalvik under advanced in CWM ofc.
