I can finally get the latest swype beta now that preinstalled swype is gone!

Any link for the new swype? Im missing mine on ICS

Sorry guys, quick question!

Just seen that Kies says I can update my sim free (rooted) S2 to ICS..........

If I do that, will I have to re-root it after the update?

Also, am I likely to lose and data/ apps etc. (the phone is backed up via Kies anyway)

You will need to re-root, yes. As far as a full wipe I would assume it does to be on the safe side.

Update to ICS via Kies does not wipe any data off the phone - all settings intact too.

It does you just have to install it off the play store

New ICS pattern lock looks lush.

Using Apex launcher now instead of Go - lovely ICS transitions.

Chrome browser is pretty good too - formats the forum pretty well.

Noticed a restart option too when holding don the power button.

Installed Chrome as my default browser now, although I think I still prefer the look of Go Launcher - it just seems so much more fluid and less laggy! :S

Oops, looks like ive bricked the S2 rerooting it. Used Odin to flash an insecure kernel... now wont turn on.

I flashed it with the insecure kernel I used when it was running 2.3....

Guessing I should have found a new insecure ICS kernal?

Trouble is, I dont know which one as cant get into phone to read the version code etc?

Any ICS kernel for Samsung based ROMs should be just fine I think.

Im tempted to try the Hydrogenics rom that everyone is getting moist over, but my phone is very smooth at the mo using the latest Neat Rom.

Ive also seen the F1 GalaxyNexus rom that looks good. So many roms, so many choices.

Tried flashing with "GT-I9100_ZSKE7_original.tar" I found on a site.... but still hanging on boot. Trouble is, after putting ICS on, I didnt look at the version number details. In hindsight Im guessing they are different to when it was running 2.3. I do have the kernels for 2.3 but not for ICS.... anyway of finding out the correct kernel for it? Help!
