****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Just grab this http://fus.nanzen.se/download.php?id=12 Under choose a firmware Android > GTi9100 > UK-tmobile & then click check firmware on the left. Then you should get this in the box at the bottom

Hit download & then flash with mobile odin or odin. No need for Kies.

Darryl_1983 Factory reset, wipe everything & then follow the steps above but for the carrier your girlfriend was on.

I downloaded that program and the firmware it recommended, but kies was saying it was not able to upgrade it :(

I tried another f/w from xda-forums and it isn't even listing it's firmware in kies.....

gahhhh

Kies won't be able to upgrade it because it is the newest update :p

That program uses the kies servers to get the firmware ;)

I'm now on Wanamlite 11.3, very smooth and nice. Kind of weird being back on Samsung ROM but thankfully Wanam has done the task of removingall the Samsung **** out the box so my job is made a bit easier :p

Main reason was to observe battery drain as I'm now on the 3 network as you guys know. I've also flashed the new 3 UK NELP3 modem which just came out.

I was also kind of getting tired of the constant bickering in the AOKP/AOSP threads with people moaning about this and that. Plus I don't think I will have this S2 for long so back on Samsung ROM (with ICS theme :p) ready for its new owner.

Good call :-) its a very overlooked Rom but I think it just works.

Aye that's the beauty of it (and CheckROM). Everything just works out the box and the mods that others have created are bundled into this as well.

Probably going down the same route - just "sold" my S2 via envirofone so awaiting the packing stuff to come through the post.
Thank god for triangle away :D

Using BVLPB modem now, came with the recent Orange ICS release. Signal seems better in my house :p haven't looked at battery or outside

What I wondered was how people on retail phones use network specific modems without rooting. If the 3 modem is better for efficiency on 3 sims then people buying a phone from CPW, for example, won't be getting that benefit from an optimised modem (or know of its existence in the first place!)

Ah well :p

I've just gone back to checkrom , as much as I liked ICS browser, Apex Launcher etc there was just to much not quite right with ICS :(

Does anyone know how to get emails to delete from server after I delete off the phone? It used to do this before the update but now I can't find the option. grrrr

Is it not a change from POP3 to SMTP? (not sure)

Anyway, my sisters phone has been upgraded to ICS and she says her battery is really bad now. Came off charge at 10am and by around 6pm its down to around 13% battery! She said it didn't seem that bad before. Anyone know if any issues with the update or have something similar?

This is rubbish. I used to have it on push with the easy set up and it would delete from server. If I set it up under pop3 I can't have push on and have to manually enter all the server settings. There must be another way of setting it up.

Feels so good having the clipboard function back, it goes hand in hand with Chrome to Phone where I can send snippets/screenshots and links etc from my PC to the phone which then gets stored in the clipboard for use at any time without having to go back into the chrome to phone app, recall the date which it was sent over and then choose an action to use.

Yup.

It's one of the features I've always gone on about but I still don't think many people know of its existence or importance until they actually start using it and realise how awesome it is.

Have you ever used Clipper? If so, how does it compare?

Just tried out Clipper and it's great for text but only txt and the fre eversion only holds 20 items.

Also in ICS I could not access Clipper from the ICS text navigation menu or long press dialogue when composing a text or an email via Gmail so it's not as accessible as the Samsung one. I'd use it on a non Samsung ROM though any day.
