any info on build quality? when i play with my DHD and then pick up my mates SGS it makes jesus baby cry with all that terrible plastic. If i buy an expensive phone i want it to feel expensive

People are saying it feels much, much more premium than the Galaxy S did.
Its still plastic but its finished properly this time.

still kinda meh/ but if its a step in the right direction then thats a good thing. The SGS feels as premium as my sisters £100 san fran in the hand

Well, how would you like it made? Glass/metal like the iPhone or full metal with a tacky plastic bottom and side bit like the DHD?
ha ha that tatty plastic on the back of the DH is utterly terrible! mine even creaks when i put pressure on it! still better than the SGS though
) and its just a creaking mess when you press the power button etc

Doesn't matter one bit considering the quality on display. The encoding is obviously very good and that's a Youtube video....
I think the design looks great! A mixture of Droid X and iPhone 4 and no plastic chrome effect or shiny back 
Apart from no native HDMI? and maybe the large home button, the only negative could be possible delays/shortages (Exynos has only just started production and that stunning sAMOLED+ will probably be in short supply too)
Edit: oh yeah and no Flash gpu acceleration? If flash performance is high on your list, best get a tegra 2 phone.

Why would there be no Flash HW accell? The dual core would be happy anyway but Flash 10.2 is due shortly anyway.
Also Samsung make their own AMOLED screens, won't be in short supply as they never were short anyway since they're their own manufacturer

Samsung can't knock em out fast enough, didn't Italy/Russia get a SLCD Nexus S variant? I think only the US/UK (+Asia?) will get Exynos/sAMOLED+ at first, other markets will get different a SoC and maybe SLCD.
Also, I haven't seen flash acceleration included in Mali 400's spec sheet (they usually like to big that one up) and Tegra 2 is homecomb's primary SoC so it's now fully certified/supported by Adobe/Android. (edit: certainly not deal breaker though)

anyone know why they did not go for the Tegra2? i thought 90% of the companies were gonna go for it...

I'd prefer it to have a plastic back if I'm honest, my Omnia7 has a metal back and when my hands are cold it's slippy as hell i've dropped it countless times now luckily only on carpet thus far
I can't wait for this phone it looks mighty mighty impressive.
