****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

no reason to keep TW but changing a launcher on ICS sammy rom is more than enough tbh! :) its stable in my eyes and with root it doesn't really need anything else :)

Cool. I'll probably try it as it is for a few days, then put a different launcher on it, and may just leave it at that.

Once I start playing with roms, it never ends!!

Any reccomendations on a car holder for this. Probably going to put one of the mesh style cases on the phone, so need a car holder that it fits in with that. I notice from browsing this thread that a nokia style holder seems to be reccomended. Is this still the favourite, or is there a reasonable low cost ebay one that will do the job?

i know the nokia one was recommended and still is.. if you want a mesh case get the samsung official one :) but i wouldn't recommend them as they tend to crack and dont really protect the phone from drops

tbh ive been going through roms lately and all of them have bugs.. so i just went back to stock ICS from samsung and im quite happy with it as it is.. may not be as nice but it seems to work the best

Where can i get the lastest stock ICS rom for my S2?

Is there on on xda that just stock and rooted?

I’m sure somebody has mentioned this in here before, but couldn’t find it.

I bought a new charger yesterday and since plugging it in, I now get a very annoying error message every 30 sec or so saying “Charging Paused, Voltage to High” never had this before and never had it when I was using my original charger?

Any fix for this please?

Thanks for reading...

Was wondering if anyone could help me. I have had a Galaxy S2 since the end of last year and love it but yesterday the google browser has started saying i'm in 'Incognito' mode for private browsing, which I wouldn't mind but it now defaults to the page informing me of that, not my home page and takes about 5 times as long to load any sites as well as constantly logging me out of them!

I've not changed any settings, does anyone know how to disable this?

Cheers.

Guys since updating my phone to ICS my S2 has been really laggy. Soft crashes, random restarts etc so I'm thinking of doing a factory reset. It's been like it for about a month now, at first it didn't bother me but it's getting to that stage now where I wanna throw my phone against the wall haha.

What's the best way of resetting it? All my music, photos, videos etc are on my SD card and my contacts are synced to my Gmail.

Cheers!

Hey guys, im on Omega rom, Siyah v.3.2.6 kernel, the internet keeps cutting out when im at home and wifi, i have to toggle wifi off and back on for it to work.

Is this a kernel or rom issue?

do a factory reset - but iirc you can keep all your pics/music etc - it's just the software that gets formatted.

Flash back a CF kernel to check if you're having the same problems, since that's basically Samsung's but with added Superuser. It'll be easier than flashing an entirely new ROM at least :)

Yep, it doesn't do anything to your storage.

I had no idea about this! Will it remove text messages etc too though, or would that stay intact?

Might factory reset mine now I know this, it's mostly fine but it's a bit sluggish occasionally and wi-fi sometimes fails to turn on, which is getting annoying.

If you root - you can save the 'in app data' of each app to - saves having to set each app again and saves game progress. I have yet to try this feature out though.

SMS Backup + is awesome, as messages and call logs are stored in Gmail and therefore easily searchable :)

Backup and restore is flawless with Titanium Backup. One or two click batch backup of all my apps and also, I have scheduled backups every Sunday night. You can then restore when necessary with batch or singularly (system data is usually a no go for restoring unless you keep the same firmware).

Just seen this post, I flashed Fluxi XX last night, seems to have cured the problem :)

EDIT: My phones doing it again, the time freezes randomly, and i have to restart it or go into time and date settings and toggle automatic time and date for it to fetch the right time

I contacted Samsung about the ICS problems I have on SII. They replied advising to do a factory reset. I then asked if ICS has been released onto SII prior to it being fully compatible. Received a reply saying they are looking into it. Will post again when they reply.
