****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Is the s2 getting jellybean officially then?

Yes...it was in the listed of 'to be' upgraded devices.

Don't bother with LPQ that is a very old build! Look at the build dates :) It is 4.0.3.

I'm still on LPQ - While it runs fairly well, it has a wifi on/off bug and a few little others...but has brightness slider on notification and the nice AOSP pattern lock design.

Matt - do you know which newest official ICS build that will work with the ICS domination theme?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1334922 ............is LPG the one to get?

I haven't used ICS domination in ages! But it seems there is no version for 4.0.4.

If you want a Europe ROM then LPG is the last one indeed. Although I have used LPS before & that worked OK for me.

I can't get enough of Paranoid Android though since the very first release when it was called D4 ROM, So I am a total convert to CM/AOSP/Tab mode :p

Cheers Matt, are you on a JB CM based ROM or still ICS? Para does sound temting...I would use the desktop in phone mode though.

What bugs have you found day to day?

Gotta say still love my S2 and will not be selling it on - it'll be my backup phone for a long while.

I'm on Jellybean now with Paranoid Android 2.17. I have been since codeworkx & the CM team fixed no audio.

There is still quite a few bugs compared to Stock ICS/CM9 but they are slowly getting fixed. The main ones that'll never be fixed are TVout & FM Radio due to how closed Samsung make certain things.

Some RIL crashes every now again but I don't get it personally. The audio DAC also has a bug where it is very quiet compared to Stock/CM9 but once Siyah or other custom kernels update then there is a work around to get it to go louder through ExTweaks, But I can live with that one it is loud enough when notifications go off. These may be fixed when the sources drop once the S2 gets the Stock update.

It basically stops raising the volume when it hits 50% if you keep going higher it doesn't change at all. CRT animation is still broken also.

Still love the phone though!

I would certainly recommend it though but expect some bugs to pop up that I haven't come across personally.

OK thanks. It CM9 or ICS AOKP or ICS Para very stable now like an official ROM?

I know CM9 is basically stable. Not sure about AOKP never used one & ICS Para is very old now they dropped support as soon as JB hit so lots of missing updates to the PA app/DPI changes etc. I personally wouldn't recommend PA ICS because of that.

Best thing to do really is just give them a try when you have some spare time & see how they fair for you :)

Guys which bluetooth headphone set to buy? I want something to use in car and jogging, fitness etc....but wireless with microphone option to talk and not expensive, max 30-35Ł/40€.

Thanks but all that stuff is complete gobbledygook to me.

get it rooted with cf-root, i posted the link a few posts back. Download the bvlpe modem zip (link in the same post). Put the zip on the phone, reboot the phone into CWM recovery, choose 'install zip from sdcard', find the modem zip and follow the rest of the onscreen instructions.

or flash a different rom that comes with a newer modem. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487

We'd need to know what modem version you currently have to advise further.

I haven't either, I've not found any problems so far with 2.17 :)

There are no Samsung Stock ROMS for 4.1 yet that is due in November according to rumours.

Ah right lol, my bad!

Downloading the I9100XWLPX firmware at the top of the thread now. Can't wait! LPQ has quite a few bugs to be honest!

Thanks mate :)

Also anyone know the cheapest you can get it with 400+ mins unlt texts and ~500mb data? (not 3, pretty poor reception in my flat)

My Gf is looking to buy one and trying to get a decent deal.
