****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Yeah, I love the size of of the s2, its like the right balance for me, good 4.3" screen, light but not to light, and not stupidly thin. The sound is 1 thing that is annoying, more so that I am using a 4.1 rom that doesn't allow me to get past 30% volume.

Very much agree, Although I do prefer it with the extended battery in there!

Have you tried Dorimanx 7.2 kernel? That has a work around in ExTweaks to make the audio louder. Been using it with Paranoid Android & everything has been ok :)

I got one of these on Monday. I love it. :D

Best of all is the orange Signal Boost app. I can now get signal anywhere in my flat via wi-fi instead of waving my arms around near the windows trying to pick up a single bar.

Hello, my gf has a galaxy s2 and it recently updated the software. However since then the battery life has been terrible, from a 100% charge, left on sleep mode it looses all its charge during the night.

Any suggestions?

Backup data, delete cache and do a factory reset. Pain in the ass, but usually fixes things.

install cpu spy off the market to see if the phone is sleeping correctly.

Can anyone recommend a ASOP based ROM for my S2.

I've bee using the beta Oxygen ROM on mine for a good while now but development on that seems to have ground to a halt. Still issues with SD Card transfer speeds etc.

I hate all the bloat and prefer to start on a clean canvas and add what I want.

Dump her, let's get married!

I've just had a poke about online and Mazuma buy them for £150, and there seems to be a lot on eBaY ranging from £140 to over £200.

i'm going the mazuma route, there can be probs going the bay route. safer and no risk

Grab Dorimanx kernel & then Extweaks from the Play store.

Go to the audio tab & turn it up :)

Dude this is so much better now thanks :D

I have tired a lot of roms, I tend to like AOKP roms as they give you all those options like setting up the quick toolbar in the notification and other things. Right Now I am on Paranoid Android, the ASOP roms have been faster and smoother but its close enough.

No worries! It annoyed me no end at the start with the default CM kernel!

Paranoid Android is by far the best custom ROM in my opinion! They are trying to do things differently, Not just package up the same old themes/mods heh. I have tried a lot of them too!

Just thought I'd check and it seems there is a firmware upgrade available for my phone on 3. Already running 4.0.3 so I wonder what it is.... (another build of 4.0.3 most likely)

Turns out to be 4.0.4. Finally I have a battery percentage, and feels a bit snappier too.

Battery life has improved as well.
