I'd love to know how the release of these updates is actually timed. Some unheard of Bosnian network gets the update months ago, whilst unlocked handsets in the UK are still waiting for it.
 
is there a way to wipe everything on the internal memory? I've done a reset to factory but that doesn't seem touch the internal memory on the s2.

When you do a factory reset it should prompt you to wipe the internal SD card. If not go into Settings > Storage > Format USB Storage
 
I recently flashed to the Nordic JB and all's fine apart from I've realised my favourite weather app came from the original Orange install. And so has gone. It was called News & Weather, is it naughty to get it back on by other means and therefore not so easy to locate it?

Anyone got a backup of it? *No other app* I've tried has the at-a-glance temperature and rainfall graph displayed so simply. The latest incarnation of Accuweather is close, but such an over developed app.

I think you're thinking of the old Android news and weather widget from Froyo and GB? If so that is no longer in JellyBean but I'm sure you can get it from somewhere

Contacts will come from Google servers if you have them sync'ed to your account & SMS can be backed up with apps from the Play Store I used SMS Backup+ in the past.

I would definitely recommend factory resetting if you have issues, As I say going from ICS - JB is like just upgrading a PC from XP - 7.
 
Can anyone recommend a ROM that has decent battery life?

Currently trying to decide between either NeatROM or Omega, but other recommendations gratefully received! :D

I got an auto software update today, 391MB but it hadn't finished the download as I need to make storage space which I'm currently doing. Would this be for Jellybean? My current software is ICS 4.0.4. Shall I backup with My Backup first?
 
Can someone help me with game save files. I'm going to update to JB but not sure if my 9 games will be reset and if I'll lose my save games. I've used My Backup Pro before but I can't remember if it restored save games, I don't think it did. I found what I think is my Cut the Rope save file, (sdcard/ZeptoLab/Cut the Rope/ctr.zsf), I guess I can save that manually to my pc and copy it back over. I've no idea where the save games are for all my other '100 doors' type games. I'm not rooted either. What's the best solution for backing up save games?
 
The wifes s2 is still stuck on 4.0.4 I want to flash wanamlite on there (as I have it on my s3) but ive been reading that as its locked on orange there will be problems if I just flash without unlocking first, is that true?
