****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I'm running stock JellyBean XEU. Nothing special about it really although the fact they have broken wallpapers is very irritating. I know I can use another launcher but the default TouchWiz one worked fine for me before, it did everything I needed so I don't really want to change.

If I've removed the SD card, how 'good' is a factory restore? Will any and all of my personal stuff, including pictures, music and texts/emails and any apps I've installed be gone? Can I safely sell it and breathe easily?

If you elect to wipe the internal storage (gives you the option when you do a factory reset) then yes it will remove all of the above. However if might be possible to recover that data.

I think if you encrypt the phone via Settings > Security and then do a factory reset it might be a bit more secure because I imagine all they could recover then is encrypted files, but I am just guessing :p

Since I upgraded to JB (official) my battery life has literally gone down the drain. (pun intended)

I havent actually done anything about it, but it is quite anoying having to charge phone everyday. I'm only a light user really, but can easily get through 70% battery in a day.

What can I do about it?

Just an example of how bad my battery life is.

I had 98% charge this morning at 9am. It's now 4.55pm and I am down to 35%.

Havent used phone that much, a little bit of browsing and about 20mins of chess.

Thats it! I take it that's not normal?

The battery issue seems to be handset dependant and cannot be replicated from one to another. Using better battery status I have found the issue to be with maps and the default mail app (not gmail). Still investigating though

Dad is also having battery issues with his S2 since updating last week. He basically hardly ever uses his phone and used to get solid 2 days of battery life but now it just about survives a day. Like today his had around 15mins screen on time and its taken almost 50% of his battery.

Here is a few screenshots if you guys can spot anything really doing the damage here. If not I will root it and backup everything and wipe the device. Maybe there is a great rom or kernel that improves thing. Would want something that is more or less exactly the same as stock as that is what his used to and I don't want to teach him something new.

Cheers.

Have you done a factory reset since updating? Seems you have an issue with maps and vonage. Could it be an issue with wifi also? Power manager service looks odd too.

Battery has been poor for me too but nothing that bad, I am wondering if the battery is just not in a good state after constant daily charges :p

I'm going to try that tonight it was amazing before the update so something must have gone wrong. Mum also has the same phone and hers is just fine after updating.

My neice has the galaxy S2 I9100P model and is complaining about the battery.

Are the normal S2 batteries compatible with this model or can anyone recommend a larger capacity battery for this ?

Can anyone just confirm if a standard cheapo 99p USB extension cable can be used for extending the wall plug charger? Only want an extra 1m cable.

(Plug----ext cable-----USB to micro USB-------phone)
