**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S20 Family Thread ****

I have just installed the google camera app (GCam apk) on my S20+. You can only install it if you have the Snapdragon chip. Initial thoughts are GCam pictures have a more natural look and colours. I will continue to test and compare pictures taken with the Samsung’s stock camera. I will give a full review shortly.

I was tempted with one of these but this thread has put me off it

Same. I need to upgrade my S8+ as the battery needs charging a couple of times a day with moderate use. Thinking now the S10+ on the offer + trade in @ £455 which seems a good price or wait to see what the OP8 looks like next week.

Currently sitting on a mate 20x and that has stellar battery life .Contract is up so was interested in the 120hz screen , more what tempts me

Now looking at the S10 Lite - snapdragon, so no exynos concerns, big screen and battery and on the promo + trade in it is only £239. Bit of a bargain and would probably do what I need.

Battery is fine, I get two days use, almost three now while I'm sat at my PC more. Depends on usage. When you first get a phone, you are at it all day for a while, then you cool down and you will see the great battery life.
Screen is amazing.
Performance is excellent.
It looks the part.
It's rather expensive though.

I was tempted with something in the s20 range. Bought an ultra, before things went sideways and returned it after about 4 weeks without even unboxing it.

Can get the plus for 720 with an old iphone 4 trade in and the 20% off, but I think money is a little more important in the bank at the moment. I've got an s8. It works. Battery is rubbish but I am stuck at home. There is a charger in most rooms in the house.

Not sure what will I benefit from having an s20 right now.

Could be out of work in a week or a couple of months, who knows. Going to see what the new note brings, and if I have work and money still by then.

Samsung seem to have done fairly well with sales considering the circumstances.

Had a little play with the zoom while out for my first walk in a couple of days.

This is normal

Vanilla S20 (is that the term for smaller 4g model?) is as low as £579 now from reputable grey seller with supposed valid warranty.

I've got an S20 ultra that was delivered on launch day. For about a week or so now I've been having problems when the phone randomly lockups, this is mainly when I'm browsing, I've had the screen refresh rate set at both 60hz and 120hz so it's not down to that.
Samsung have been slow this time around with the updates, I was hoping one would be out and this would fix the problem.
Anyone else been having similar issues ??

This has happened a few times on my S20+ whilst using Chrome as the browser.

Just been looking around the net (on my PC :p) it seems to be a more common problem than I expected, there appear to be may takes on what the problem is but Chrome appears to be mentioned a lot of times.

Fingers crossed the next update solve the problem, it's time like this I think why did I bother to upgrade, maybe a lesson learnt for next time....... probably not knowing me :D

It's almost certainly Chrome - it's been dog **** these past few weeks with me (locking up and more recently - pages not loading with that sad face icon in the middle).

Yep definitely chrome. My s20+ is randomly hanging when using chrome and my note 9 used to do it too. A user posted it in the note 9 forum a few weeks back and I said my note 9 was doing it too. A few days later I bought the s20+ and had the issue the first day and have done randomly since. Surprised its not been fixed in an update yet.

It just did it writing the last sentence above

For those who have an Ultra, where are you getting yours from? I'm not sure if I can trust eBay as it tends to be sellers buying it from Vodafone on contract then flogging it on while listing it as new. Anywhere that takes PayPal though is a plus as I can spread it in 4 payments interest-free.

Yeah I got it earlier. Camera improvements apparently as well as a few other things, not had a chance to form an opinion yet.
