**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S21 Family Thread ****

Seeing a few reports on Reddit from folk with the Exynos CPU reporting the phone getting very hot with very few apps open, hope we're not going to see another year where the UK/European models are by far sub par to the Snapdragon ones...

You and I both will have it on our hands soon to test.

GSMArena.com reported no thermal issues while gaming.

Yay, new phone day
I'm looking forward to replacing my Pixel2XL, but at the same time a little sad to be replacing it, and with a Samsung too lol

:D I get that, I really do. Was always a fan of the pixel OS when it worked properly. Very clean and streamlined. I tried a pixel 5 but it was underwhelming for me. Had they offered a decent flagship I'd probably have stuck with it, but they keep refusing to give people what they wanted so ultimately people are now switching sides. I don't think Google see the pixel range as flagship anymore, so it's down to Samsung, none of it's rivals are particularly compelling.

I still really like my Pixel 2XL, I'm just disappointed there's no more updates. It's been the best phone I've had so far and still works quite well.. although I'm starting to see some small hangs and freezes occasionally now and battery seems to have dropped to around 4.5hrs screen. The newer Pixel hardware hasn't interested me at all though. :(

The time seems to be passing really slowly this morning

I like the look of the Ultra for me (S21 for the wife) but how bad is the samsung bloatware?

Potentially coming from a OP7 pro which is pretty clean andriod, I'm a little worried about all the Samsung apps etc

Based on past experience, no, it's not as clean and simple as stock, but with a little work you can get reasonably close to a stock experience.

Change the launcher, font, and theme. Use Google apps and disable any Samsung apps you don't want.

Some of the Samsung apps aren't bad to be fair. In fact dare I say it, while I'm waiting for my ultra, I've been using Samsung internet, and while it's perhaps not the best looking browser, it's actually otherwise better than Chrome in a lot of ways (it supports ad blockers for starters, and a genuine dark mode).
