*** The Official Sony Ericsson Satio Thread ***

Any users care to comment on battery life? Thanks! :)

personally I've found battery life OK about the same as any other phone I've had.

the invisable shield is good, as said it is a bit of a pain to fit, but you end up with protection and the looks of the phone ;)

i never got one in my box =/, where did u get urs form ?

Well, I'm hoping I'm wrong, but it seems the cracks are starting to show with my Satio after just 8 days. For the past 24 hours I haven't been receiving texts, haven't been able to send any as they fail every time and haven't been able to get onto the internet. I thought maybe I was just getting a bad signal from my house, though it's never happened before. Got to work in London this morning and was still having the same problem, so I tried switching the phone off and what a surprise, it starts crashing. Crashed and froze when I tried to turn it off, took the battery out, crashed when I switched it back on. I took the battery out and tried again, and it now works fine, I've received 5 texts sent to me last night and can get on the web again.

I'm hoping this isn't the sign of things to come, but I fear it is. It's been the case with my last 2 Ericsson phones, you'd think I'd have learnt my lesson by now :(

Lets hope that was a one-off but my mates phone has crashed a few times. Maybe a firmware update will solve it.
Are you allowed to update to a newer SE firmware instead of voda's current one?

It would need to be debranded to enable the phone to use a OEM SE firmware.

iirc De-Branding should be available this or next week via DaVinci Team.

Had a go on the office demo phone...massive lag from one menu to the other, response time was terrible, really wanted to like this phone :(

Mine seems fine, i get the odd slow down here and there but its a new product so i was some what expecting it. Overall though i am still over the moon with the phone. :D

I am just waiting for the de-branding to be released as i had a play with a de-branded handset and there is a noticable speed difference between mine (Voda) and a unbranded one.

If any one is interested in accessing the service mode for the phone, for example to turning off charging while connected via USB

Service Mode Press:

red – green – red – red – green – red

Cheers for the Service Mode, by doing that and going into service information i can now get the MAC address for the phone to get it added to the network.

my phone contract runs out next week hopeing for one of these going to vodafone store to try one out today, bit worried as i am seeing very mixed reviews and a bit of bad talk about the touchscreen.

been wanting this phone for a few months now

Just got mine yesterday on Orange not sure about the orange branding think i'll have to debrand it when they are available.

The only other thing that is irritating me a little bit is having to tap selection twice like text message before it opens. I noticed this on a vodafone one I tried in the shop as well so it's not specific to Orange any one else getting this?

Apart from that its a fantastic phone and the camera is brilliant, better than my 5mp compact.

I need help transferring my contacts.. im coming from an N95. I have around 400 contacts, some with multiple numbers per contact. What's the easiest way to transfer them to the Satio? I tried using Bluetooth, but the N95 sends my contacts as a business card and i will have to save all the contacts to my Satio one by one and this will take forever. Any faster way to do this?

ok update to my post above, i tried iSync from my Mac and that sync'd my N95 contacts. Then I wanted to sync the contacts to my Satio but I keep getting errors. It just wont sync. So I boot up Windows 7 and sync'd my N95 using the Nokia PC Suite and it sync'd with Outlook. Then I tried to sync Outlook with SE PC Suite and guess what, I got errors again. LoL this is frustrating.. i give up and ill transfer my contacts 1 by 1 :(
