**The Official Star Wars Battlefront II Thread (PC)**

As im at work with not speakers, whats the current pay to win thing all about. Reading a site is seems just some weapons are unlocked from loot boxes and tbh i quite enjoy a challenge and if it means people have to pay to unlock them so they get better weapons, more fool them. I don't care about k/d ratio i just want to have fun.

As it was available as part of the recent Beta test people took a look at the Loot Box system included in SWBF II.

Although it contains cosmetic items like skin variations or emotes it also included a set of tiered 'stat boosting' cards that you can use. You can only use a set number of card at anyone time, but these effectively increased to level of damage you could inflict or reduced cooldowns between abilities, hence the Pay 2 Win accusations, which in this instance are completely justified

It isn't just OP cards, weapons etc. it is the crafting parts too, which is what is needed to unlock a lot of said stuff, the game is incredibly grindy for crafting parts. I played about 25 matches in the beta and only had enough crafting parts (80) to buy one card (40) and that was it, to buy/unlock a gun, it required 250 crafting parts..........

Think division when it first released and the division tech. that was required to craft blue prints, crafting parts and the rarity of unlocking them is essentially the exact same as what division tech. was in the division but even more important since you "need" crafting parts to be able to unlock a lot of the content.

The crafting parts thing does seem to have been addressed to a degree at least, I played the full release for about an hour last night and ended up with more crafting parts than I managed to get in the entire beta.

When you say the full release.. I thought it wasn’t released until 17th Nov?

If you have an EA/Origin subscription you can play now. I am seeing quite a few people who are already up the levels, just been grouped with one guy who is already level 23 lol, he must have played nonstop.

Also already seeing people who have clearly bought lootcrates (lvl1 and lvl2 players running about with high tier gear cards on their characters). Thereby highlighting that its the gamers fault for lootcrates prevalence cause they keep buying them.

Ah yes thankyou I forgot about early access stuff. I have a code I bought back in May so just waiting to be able to download it!

Well that's a start I suppose....

Yup it is always the consumers that ruin everything for themselves in the long run, most people just have no will power or principles and have this attitude of not caring and just wanting to have everything right there and then but hey that is society for you these days, really hits home when you watch things like stranger things, which is set in the 80s around a group of kids/nerds, oh how life was so much simpler and better back then!

To be perfectly honest, the blatant hacking which plagued the PC release from the start with minimal intervention from the devs make any pay to win aspect a moot point in my book.

Part of the problem was not properly separating people - a lot of very casual players picked it up due to being Star Wars who got absolutely wrecked by experienced gamers and unsurprisingly called hacks.

First time playing the game via trial and i don't like how the game feels, it looks great but the gameplay just doesn't feel right and i'm not going to bother mentioning the other dire aspect of the game, everyone is well aware of that.

And they just announced The Last Jedi DLC that's releasing in two weeks or so already, probably an attempt to retain players.

I'm in two minds to get this, there is something about it I really enjoy tbh been playing the trial tonight

Tbh, I actually quite enjoy the trial too, but I jist cant justify buying it. The asking price is a massive £54.99 and then on top of that is the lootcrate issue , the way that the first game was riddled with cheats that nothing was ever done about and ultimately , even though I quite enjoy it, I dont enjoy it 55 quids worth. If it was say, 20 quid, I'd get it but the asking price , for basically a run and gun game, is too steep for me.

Oh yea I won't be paying that much for it but it is a solid game in all honesty. Feels good quality.

ahaha shroud spent 180 dollars to get vader..

good job he earns over 100k dollars a month!

Typical Youtubers. Wouldn't surprise me if he made a video berating publishers/devs for loot crates and because he is rich he can afford to pay for loot boxes. No doubt he live streamed the loot crate opening and earnt even more money from angry gamers.

Can be had now for £39.99 on key sites. Could have been had for £28.99 a few months back.
