^^
Yup pretty much.
Also, iirc, a mass effect developer said a while ago that loot boxes/micro transactions were the way forward as they had a couple of guys spend thousands on just loot boxes
EA posted on Reddit regarding the locking of stuff, it's now the most downvoted comment in Reddit history, the 2nd most downvoted Reddit comment in history is currently at -24k
, EA so far ahead now.

bahahahahahahaha
Then I read this comment:
The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes.
Good to see ronku whore jackfrags is trying to downplay the issue, he makes some valid points but also some completely and utterly retarded comments:
- from what I seen, all this so called "free" dlc/content might be free but it is going to be locked behind in game pay walls thus either grind for 40+ hours to unlock the stuff or buy loot boxes. I think it is safe to say that the vast majority of people would rather have premium/season pass over BF 2 current system.... Heck shouldn't need to have any system like either but premium/paid for dlc is by far the lesser of 2 evils in this case
- people aren't really that bothered about pay to "win", more the pay to "progress", as I was saying last night to a friend, the amount of time required to level up the class was 1600 hours, that is more gameplay time than what I have in BC 2, BF 3, BF 1 and SWBF 1 combined...... It is just slightly less hours than what I have in bf 4 and I had everything unlocked in that game within a few hundred hours.....
I also have to laugh at people that try to claim that developers have a hard time of making money, no they really don't, remind me again, how much these companies are worth? That's right, millions, if developers want more money then they should be asking their publishers/ceo for a pay increase..... Also, remind me again how much money games like mario, zelda etc. made? And they had no dlc or micro transactions........ If developers aren't happy with their income and want more money then move to a new job.
Oh well, at least it looks like dice/ea are going to have to address this now. Going to be interesting to see what their next SWBF or BF game will be like with regards to micro transactions..... Supposedly need for speed payback is even worse
