**The Official Star Wars Battlefront II Thread (PC)**

I just set everything to ultra ticked the extra box for fish eye and the other tick box, turned field of view to 110 turned up resolution scale to 150%.

Apart from the pop in it's the best graphics I have ever seen with everything so smooth and crisp especially when spinning the cameras round or running.
I must say this looks superb to my eyes and seems to run very much better than Battlefront (1), I could never get good performance out of the old one and cranking up resolution scale reduced it to a crawl.

I'm now running it with everything set to ultra @4K (Resolution scale 150% too) and it looks great and runs beautifully and despite SLI 1070's I've noticed no micro stutter whatsoever.

Seems to be extremely well optimised and appears to me to look and run better than the beta.

Not bothered about all the uproar over paying for extra, unless I can pick it up either free or for next to nothing I rarely bother, I never got the BF4 expansion packs and eventually they were all given away free anyway - the only exception was paying £10 or so for the Death Star add on for Battlefront simply for the trench run! :D

So I’ve been playing this for the past few days and honestly haven’t touched multiplayer yet but, the single player has thus far been very enjoyable for me. Looks gorgeous, the guns sound great, the story is fairly basic but steers things along at a good old rate and the space battles are really great.

I’m literally terrified to try the multiplayer for fear of it destroying my enjoyment of the game but I’ll have to take the plunge eventually......

I guess the great thing about this game is at least DICE/EA have now made this sort of thing a complete no go for the foreseeable future in the gaming industry, no way is anyone going to take the chance to have this sort of backlash over their game again, especially smaller studios that couldn't afford to take such a beating.

No doubt other publishers/developers such as rockstar and two face are fuming with them, ruined their party and plans for future games big time :D

Does make me laugh though how this game got so much hate for the progression etc. yet GTA 5 is just as bad, if not worse, the amount of hours/days/weeks/months it takes to unlock new dlc content in that game is crazy but hey you could spend £30 for 10 million shark card and then come next dlc, either grind again or spend another £30......... :o

Yup, they went a step too far and got greedier than usual!

I myself don't mind loot boxes, as long as they're just cosmetic.

Yup likewise although the problem with just cosmetic stuff is that I imagine it's not that good in terms of profit as the vast majority of people don't care about cosmetics unless the game has a super strong fan base like overwatch so whilst that could work for star wars, it won't for a lot of games.

I still think Planetside 2 has one of the best systems, maybe THE best. They have had a lot of success with it and from what I hear the game still makes a lot of money.

Yea you can buy weapons from their store. But it really doesn't take all that long to get them just by playing the game and they are never an upgrade to the default ones, only variations.

TBH if they made BF2 with the same ambition as Planetside 2 it would have been an amazing game all round. Huge 3000 player battles, in a Starwars setting would be an instant chart topper.

Depends - people do care about cosmetics - one of the big pulls with many MMOs is the options for changing appearance, etc. but a lot of people won't spend money/don't care enough about things like weapon skins unless they are truly special and in many cases people want more than just a half hearted patterned skin poorly slapped over the item.

It is one thing The Division gets very very wrong - almost no one will spend money to randomly get the odd item they really want amongst a sea of fragmented and unorganized tat - they could make a ton of money from it with a serious overhaul and better options in both variants of an item and variation of items.

For MMOs, I'm not surprised given the main thing about those games being based around customisation but try doing cosmetics in future battlefield games? Not going to work no matter how fancy a gun/camo/uniform looks, only way people will pay is if it give an advantage i.e. made it harder for people to see you i.e. snow uniform on a snow map but then that will just ruin the game play and make it unfair if people have camouflage but I wouldn't be surprised if dice/ea pulled this move.....

The division....... Personally not that bothered about customisation in it, only thing I want to be better in that game with regard to character customisation is a **** ton more control around your body/face looks.

Only way cosmetic stuff will rake in money is if it is like CS:GO skins i.e. where people can sell the skins on to gain money/credit themselves.

as a big starwars fan iv been thinking of getting this game but as u all know the loot boxs has put a dark cloud over the game which is why i havnt got the game yet for any one who has the game sould i wait to see what happens or should i take the dive and buy the game.

If you are a big Star Wars fan - not too bothered that ultimately its probably going to be a pretty shallow game and not worried about playing ultra competitively and just want to play it for the Star Wars atmosphere, etc. then I won't hold it against you for buying it :p

If you want to see a better approach from EA in the future, especially if you are "non-casual" player or want to see more depth, especially stuff like single player etc, and a less condescending approach to game design, etc. then don't open your wallet.
