God knows where the E2180 comparison came from. The chips are two totally different worlds and should not be compared.
Christmas has come early and I'm bringing the presents
Check this out.
My mate from Taiwan got 4.5Ghz on Air, did run a tad toasty though
Chip is retail.
P5K-Deluxe, Custom Air, umax DDR2 400 4gb, idle 52c, under load 82c
voltage - 1.58
That is toasty 69C was as hot as mine got; but then again I didn't put more than 1.5v through it.
No, I see Pulse's point...
an e2180 @ 3.2Ghz and £54 works out at £17 per Ghz
an e8400 @ 4.4Ghz and £144 works out at £33 per Ghz.
that's from a "best bang per buck" viewpoint.
Now get priming.I want to know what these chips will do 24/7 stable.
I hope they do a lot more than 4Ghz 24/7 or ill be skipping this gen, i think some will do around 4.5Ghz though.
At a guess I reckon most are going to do 4Ghz 24/7 possibly a touch more if you get a decent chip.
