** The Official WWDC 2012 Thread **

I would imagine new iMacs are still due soon... I still will be holding off - or I'll collapse and buy the new MacBook Pros :p

I'm expecting a silent bump to the iMac/Mac Mini around ML launch. So I may just hold out.

Edit: Trying to watch the official video and it's stuttering like hell :p Apple get hammered in the store, the video server and also developers downloading the iOS 6 beta.

Once again it appears Apple have missed the boat and omitted the only functions most people jailbreak for, from it's new OS.

The ability to quick reply to messages, and the ability to quickly switch things like wi-fi, 3G etc on and off are still seemingly not present in IOS6.

Ridiculous.

I really have to echo this.
For me

Apple need to replicate:
Deck
Quick Reply
lock Info / notification centre expanded
iProtect. I can't believe they promote sharing your device but if someone does one with it in your hand they are straight into any app they want. Locking down of apps on un authorised networks is a total must. Im shocked this and quick reply haven't been looked at yet. It actually really annoys me. Thank god for the JB community I just hope IOS6 is jail broke straight away.

It's always the same with Apple...keep holding out etc.

The only benefit I have is that if I buy a new machine now I know it'll be much better at doing the job my current one does and it'll last me years.

Yeah, think I'm going to do it.

I have absolutely no idea what to get now

Need to replace my 13" pro from 09

With HE Discount, air with 8GB of ram is £930
15" Pro with antiglare hi-res is £1350
and the retina is £1550

With the retina having the same real world screen space as the air, and the 15" pro not having an SSD i think i'll just save my money,

Personally dont need a gfx card so it'll be a nice cheap and excellent upgrade for me!

Actually, the choice of nVidia graphics again is an interesting one. Perhaps a 670/680m for the iMac bump? I kind of hope so, as, if I get an iMac, I'd be using FSX on it, which greatly favours running on nVidia hardware...

anyone notice this:

Flyover and turn-by-turn navigation will be available only on iPhone 4S and iPad 2 or later

glad I got a 4s sucks for 4 users cos we all know it can handle turn by turn fine!!!

I'm undecided between a MBP with retina display (the £1800ish one) or the 13inch MBA with 8GB ram at about £1350. Not bothered about the display much but want a thin-ish looking machine and the MBP looks a better bet. Will be my first ever Mac.

I think I'll wait to have a look at one in the flesh, do we recon these will be on display from tomorrow in an Apple store?

BTW what are all these discounts (HE?) that people keep mentioning and how can I get them?

Trigger pulled.

27"
3.4ghz i7
standard 4gb ram (will fit my own 16gb kit I'll get from elsewhere)
standard 1tb hard drive, I already have a 240gb SSD to go in I got from OcUk the other week, and I'll fit a large 2tb or 3tb drive while I'm at it.
2gb 6970m gfx card.

It'll be a beast.

Although worryingly all I'm going to do is turn it on to ensure the specs are correct then turn it off and dismantle the bloody thing!!!

My work collegue just blew his MBP up opening up the back, apple want 400 odd to replace the logic board!

The price of a top of the line Pro is over £3,000. Crazy!!!

I really want to see the new display but will be keeping my 2011 for some time to come.
