** The Official WWDC 2012 Thread **

My work collegue just blew his MBP up opening up the back, apple want 400 odd to replace the logic board!

I've dismantled hundreds, possibly even thousands of machines. I've just watched a video tutorial, no reason why I won't be able to do it...correct tools and patience is all thats required. :)

Nice spec Phate!

I'm another who's unimpressed with iOS6.

Mountain Lion looks good but probably what Lion should have been.

I've added an SSD To my 2008 MBP recently and it's flying so I doubt I'll be upgrading my hardware any time soon.

I think its safe to say that if they claim they have updated the MacPro with with lacking features such as thunderbolt and usb 3 then theres gonna be no iMac upgrade. Good purchase Phate! Buying a back up storage device? I want a pegasus.

I'm going to build a file server of some sort to live in the garage, I know you can configure Time Machine to update through the network to a windows file server, so that'll do.

Guys,

WHat are your thoughts on this new retina display for photo editing? Old mbp has the optional anti glare high res? Thoughts?

err...nobodys seen one yet...how can anyone tell you? :p

No doubt it'll be good...but nobody can comment till we see them :p

Yeah I know lol, I am hovering over that buy button for a 15 inch base spec retina!! :D

I am having an indecisive moment! Wonder when these machines will actually hit the stores?!

Just wait for some reviews. No need to go mad on Day one. Wait for a few months. There's bound to be problems in the first batch, there always is.

anyone notice this:

Flyover and turn-by-turn navigation will be available only on iPhone 4S and iPad 2 or later

glad I got a 4s sucks for 4 users cos we all know it can handle turn by turn fine!!!

With the iPhone I would assume that may be in part down to the fact that the turn by turn navigation system relied heavily on Siri, which of course is a 4S only feature.

Surprised there is no USB 3.0 in the MacPro and Thunderbolt for that matter, which Apple has really pushed on their other devices. I've had a USB 3.0 card in my MacPro for months now, so I don't understand why they haven't integrated it yet.
