While I like that apps can auto-resume, VLC and QuickTime doing it is a pain in the backside. It looks like if I open 4 or 5 music files they remain open. How do I close them or disable the feature for these apps only?

Quit the app with the Opt+Cmd+Q keyboard shortcut, or in the Application menu (in the menu bar), hold down Option and you'll see the Quit option change.

Thanks, I might have misdescribed though. If you hold your mouse over the dock icon there is a list of documents (seems this is on multiple apps) is there a way to disable that?

Cheers.

Does switching between spaces make anyone else feel slightly sick, or is that just my hangover? Really messing with my eyes which is a pain when quickly trying to switch between.

Overall it's not bad. Gestures are fubar'ed in chrome :(. And it took me ages to figure out how to decrease the font size of the sidebar in finder!

Other than that it's very grey.

Bah, computer says no... :(

I think I'll stick with SL for now, at least until I get another Mac with a newer CPU...

What's the story with Hardware Acceleration guys? Apparently flash has lost hardware acceleration on Lion... wonder if it's just Adobe being ****, or other things are gonna have lost hardware acceleration too...

Downloaded Lion overnight since my download speed was awful.. guess everyone was as eager as me to try this OS and see if it lives up to all the hype. So I went to install and Lion was unable to install to my current hard drive which is formatted correctly and booting Snow Leopard, I didn't fancy install it on my External HD which was an option... I went into Disk Utility.. Partitioned the drive by 100GB and then I was able to install Lion.. Currently installing.. I will just remove the partition when booted up and eventually do a complete fresh install when I have more time.. hope this helps anyone having a similar problem I know it sounds ridic! but worked for me.. interesting to see If anyone else has had this issue?

Think I'm going to stick with SL for now, judging by some of the negative comments I've read. I'm also not sure how it will affect applications and documents? Don't want to have to reinstall CS5 and Logic!

Anyone tried signature capture? That is amazing and works flawlessly. It is in preview/annotate menu.

Currently sat in a pub with free BT Infinity wifi, pint in hand and taking about 30 mins to download Lion :D

Much much better option than sitting at my house up the road downloading on my 1mb net :D

Lion is good, it's made little difference speedwise on my 4GB uMacbook. Load times are noticeably longer though. I really should have done a clean install tbh. The gestures being all messed up with a new install is what tarnishes the lion experience a bit imo.

The review on http://thisismynext.com/2011/07/21/mac-os-x-lion-review/ says you can "reclaim" the three finger swipe. Does this mean you can set it back to being back/forward in Safari/Chrome/Finder et al?

If it is not too much trouble could someone post some screenshots of the various options in the Trackpad/Gestures pref panes? Also has the "Expose/show desktop" four finger up gesture made it into Lion?
