Ahh ok, Would be nice if there was a setting in Wattman to set max wattage directly.

There's a power limit slider that adjusts the wattage, -10% up to +10-15-20% depending on the GPU.

6900 XTs were limited to +15%, but 6950 XT have +20% as an example.

This is significantly more control than you get on the competition, btw.

Not sure, 6800 XT - stock 6900 XT MBA or thereabouts.

So you are basically getting 6800xt/6900xt performance for just about a 6700XT's power budget. Pretty cool.

If I bought the Gelid PWM Adaptor (To fit into the small connector on my reference 6900XT, then a Y splitter into the three Alphacool 120mm fans that go on the Rad.
(I would like the fans to ramp according to GPU temp.
The Alphacool fans are 12V rated at 0.65Amps each.
The reference fans are 90mm. (Not sure what they pull).
Basically could I burn out the card pulling those three fans through the GPU connector?.

Thats assuming the fans are not already controlled in some way.
Have you looked at the instructions how the fans are connected as you might not need to do that ?

From what I can see on instructions it looks like header is plugged into motherboard, then controlled through bios.
But this takes away control through GPU temp.

5800x3d and a 6950xt for 1080p 240hz for current and future games looks the way forward been looking at benchmarks for past week or so before deciding what to buy. Only thing that puts me off is software anybody here run into any problems?

Nice rig, welcome. How are you getting on since switching?

Not had much chance to play yet, but it seems pretty good so far. Its noticeable louder at the moment than the 3090, but I've not played with anything like undervolting etc. I've fired up Heaven and F1 22 and with everything on Ultra at 4K with RT set at medium I'm seeing 100+ FPS

Need to also look at the 3900x as its just been sat at stock since I put it in the PC.

Just read in the latest news AMD thread if the 6900xt had come out pre-covid OCUK would have been able to sell them for £629 and the 6800xt at £499 so they are not doing to bad at the moment considering the cost of everything has risen but I bet we will never see those prices again for what amounts to a high end AMD card.

Looks nice. What is the max temp under 400W of loaf? How loud are the fans and what is the delta between edge and hotspot at 400W load?

Thanks, I've not had the balls to give it 400w in MPT. The fans are inaudible up to about 75% beef.
Last night I tried Res Evil Village. At 4k 2300-2500Mhz. 2120 Mem clock 15% Power Limit.. Pulling about 250W

Going to play around with the fan curve a bit more as I'm still getting used to the "FanControl" program, not really looking for big numbers. Cool and quiet. 110c is max Hotspot temp?. To be honest I'd be happy with 2500Mhz and some lower Temps.

Yep 110c is max (for the 6900 XT anyway - not XTXH) so you are way off that, maybe increasing fan speed a bit might make it possible.
