I know people in their 20s who say their dream is to be famous, they don’t even know what they want to be famous for… just that fame at any level is the goal.

As someone who was a bit nerdy/unpopular at school I can absolutely see the appeal of fame.
I think good OF income is quite appealing.
By "good" I mean you can work less than a full time job, take home 6 figures.. But not be in public eye.
That is what I would aim for if I could do it.

Only a small percent (top 5% give or take) are making decent money from it though. Average monthly payout on OF is sub $200.
EDIT: Also relatively time limited for many - a few good years maybe but then interest will drop off when people get older (though if you are making a good amount from it and smart about it can set yourself up for life and probably retire pretty young).

The position you're arguing from isn't logical. You're calling me out because I said I'd lose respect for someone. But by your logic you never had respect for the person anyway, as was your argument against me saying nobody cared about whether I respected them or not (there was no intention for them to know. The whole question was a brain exercise).
By the arguments you make you don't care about anyone so respect never comes into it.
