Np. With all the discussion of VRAM it's easy to miss read the graphs.
Always hate graphs like that, never show the full story and if like 1-3 fps difference, initially it looks massive because of the way they have done the graph.
Either way, 3080 got a massive lead according to them.
Shame the game is **** compared to the first but I'll give it a play again with rtx and do some comparisons screenshots.

Had a quick play, so far, pretty good!
- reflections as expected a million time better
- ray tracing lighting effects seem extremely minimal
- either my eye sight has gotten worse or this is perhaps using 2.2 or an even newer version of dlss as this is fantastic and notice literally zero motion issues in this, saying that, performance even without dlss is superb

Why is such a big difference between the first set of pictures? Look at the reflections in the right ( top right )Had a quick play, so far, pretty good!

2080ti pulling ahead of even the 3070ti due to vram

dont like jensen but i'm big oof for this mistake
wrink probably right, difference probs stems from dlss core difference (although in most games they perform the same, this one seems to be an outlier)
i mistaken the lower fps numbers as %1 lows, but then i realized it always shows native fps so 3070 tying 2080ti there (unless nvidia didn't do some special setting wizardry)
my hate for nvidia/8 gb vram seem to make me ignorant/blind my eyes sometimes, so i apologise, again, from everyone
With everything set to ultra nightmare at 4K, ray tracing on DLSS off the game is reporting according to afterburner 9.6GB of actual VRAM usage. With DLSS at quality that drops to 8.9GB.
My total allocated VRAM with everything I have running is 11.5GB/12GB and the game is using that amount above.

And as suspected, looks like nvidia are sponsoring bf 2042 (dlss and reflex support) alongside microsoft. No mention of ray tracing but in the gameplay reveal, reflections/water puddles looked ray traced..... Also, would be a bit odd if it didn't have any ray traced effects, since bf 5 had ray traced reflections.

If you turn on the in game metrics we can see if RT/DLSS is on/off. Personally I'm not sure RT is worth the 50 FPS hit
Though I did not try DLSS so if 2.2 is as good as claimed...
I only played 15mins. DLSS looks very good as I didn't notice any issue at 1440p DLSS Quality. Just at the point where you get your 2nd upgrade there is a very rough and dirty relective surface that I noticed my own reflection in. That makes RT worth it

In that comparison, DLSS looks better than Native. That's the sort of thing FSR just can't do
RTX makes a nice difference to non reflective surfaces too

Iirc it was done for the consoles in mind too so in that regard the 'light touch' isn't a surprise. Might check this out too
