But seriously, Alves is a good player, if we sign him id expect him to play RB as his main position with us bringing in maybe Joaquin, Prieto or Pennant for RW.

Havent seen much of him, but watched him vs Boro, Barca and Real over the last few weeks and i was really impressed. If he was to join i would expect him to play RM, he's far too attacking to play at RB but i suppose he would be good cover for Finnan.

have u seen Fabio or Rafael on FM2006? man Utd just signed them both in real life. they are amazing on champ, infact Fabio is "dubbed the new Fabio Auriello" from valencia in the game.

so i think FM is a proven source based upon those events....
 
FM has a strong scouting network across the world, on many occasions it proves to be a good source of information - I wonder if real life scouts use it hehehe.

Rui Costa Rescinds Milan Contract

The Rossoneri number 10 jersey has just become available as Portuguese veteran Rui Costa (ex-Fiorentina / Benfica) and AC Milan have mutually brought the link between player and club to an end.

After spending a few days in Portugal with friends and family, Rui headed back to Milan and a meeting with the AC management that ended with the contract that was due to expire in June 2007 being cut short.

Geovanni Branchini, the player’s agent, actively sought out the AC Milan execs to express Rui Costa’s feeling that he’d prefer to be cut loose if next season was going to be a repeat ordeal of the 2005-6 season where the playmaker was used sparingly by Ancelotti.

Rui Costa is now much closer to making the Benfica return that many Encarnados have yearned for as the rescission of the existing contract means that the Lisbon giants won’t have to fork out any troublesome penalty clause.

When asked how he felt after both Nuno Gomes and Simão had heaped praise on the number 10, Rui responded “Coming from friends like that in a club that I’ve played for means a lot. I feel homesick for Portugal, for Benfica – for all of the things that link me to my land.”

Although I admire Kaka it was him coming to Milan which really sealed his fate and the inevitable happening. He was a record signing from Fiorentina over £25M IIRC. Wish him all the best :)

In other News, bargains to be had at Juve :D strongest claims are Buffon to Milan...

Beeen talk that he's been having his medical all day. Pires replacement? Or we could be moving to a 4-5-1 next season, with a player just behind Henry.

Cor, sneaky Wenger again, Rosicky has been linked with us on and off for a few seasons, but nothing more than interest, and now we're apparently about to sign him!

I expect Arsene will convert him to a winger if we get him, but obviously his CM experience will help us when we play 4-5-1. Quality.
