The Rumour Mill, who do you want/think your club will sign/sell this summer

I'm not a fan of retiring shirts in general, and like to see vacant numbers used up. Although in a way I'm glad they haven't handed the #6 to any random muppet just yet.

Some of my mates were telling me last night that they heard that RvN was going to Chelsea, and that Eidur was going to Arsenal.
Cant see that happening. Not without Cole going the other way for Arsenal and someone going the other way for Utd.

Seems palace want £12M for johnson, too much IMO. Kuyt again linked with newcastle and more about liverpool letting morientes and cisse go for smallish fees in the papers today.

^^ aye I read in the paper today that Kuyt would love to play in the premiership and would love even more to play in the North East. Middlesborough it is then :p

Sol Campbell to Newcastle after the world cup is a strong one at the moment.

Others currently doing the rounds.

In
Darren Bent (Charlton)
Curtis Davies (West Brom)
Dirk Kuyt (Feyenoord)
Djibril Cisse (Liverpool)
Ruud van Nistelrooy (Man United)
Fernando Torres (Atletico Madrid)
Matt Taylor (Portsmouth)
Jermaine Defoe (Tottenham)

Out
Amady Faye (to Portsmouth)
Nicky Butt (to Wigan)
Lee Bowyer (to West Ham)
Albert Luque (to Seville)
Michael Chopra (to Watford)
James Milner (to Aston Villa)
Michael Owen (to Liverpool) Yawn....

Personally I would like us to be linked with anyone good other than Diarra. Same old UTD always wait till the end of August before we have a sniff at signing anyone then we pay through the nose. Pre seasons are so frustrating as a UTD Fan. Even Arsenal are strengthening. This little matter of the world cup is not a good enough excuse

Thats been kicking about for a while now. I think FGY will be off with any luck, the further the better.

Nowhere further than us in this league.
Id have him at Newcastle , anyday.

On his day there's no one better. Shame that day was about 2 years ago. He's very similar to Owen in that he values his England Career very highly, although it's entirely possible that he will retire after the WC.

Yeah , hes past his best but he would be a good signing at the right price (that being FOC).
He would do wonders for the 2 or 3 talented young defenders we have coming through the ranks.
I expect great things of Steven Taylor.

If he packs in England to prolong his club career then all the better.
I think Owen is packing in Newcastle to prolong his England career!

I think he could be forced to retire from international footie, he certainly won't be first choice for England at this WC, and after the WC I can only see McClaren heading towards youth. He could be FOC, although the Turkish offer was £8m (not that I believe it for 1 second) his wages will be steep, roughly £60k a week. He's never struck me as a good leader of young players (or of anyone tbh), he hasn't really helped Senderos, but I guess he helped Toure.

What I'd do for 11 Kolo Toure's

Might as well get it over and done with, straight swap Cisse for Owen. :p

I would like to see kuyt come to newcastle he has a good goalscoring record and i think he would be suited to playing the english premiership style .

I wanted luque to be a hit but he doesnt seem to fit into the english game and if a half decent offer comes in he's gone , hopefully with faye , butt .

I dont think kuyt would be that cheap though but someone to replace shearer is a must .

I think Luque has been a little unfairly treated tbh.
Souness was clueless where to play him and he barely made Roeders squads.
I think its worth perservering with him until at least January.
Face it , we are not going to get much of our £10m back for him now are we?
Now that Roeder has made it clear he doesnt want him.
Poor management imo.

I think Kuyt would fit right into the premier league.

I would say that luque wasnt really given a real chance , maybe he didnt show enough in training to be in the first team but i am a big fan of la liga and seeing him play for mallorca and deportivo he looked a real good player , the injury he got straight away didnt help much + working under souness .

Ameobi has had loads of chances at newcastle but he isnt up to the standard required , luque will never be given the same chance to show what he can really do .

One good striker kuyt etc , a decent centre half and a left back and i believe newcastle will be back where they should be top 6 , come on freddy get your cheque book out again .
