The Tesla Thread

I think my quote for the M3P came in around £500. Which isn't terrible but £100 more than I pay for my M5.

I wouldn’t mind the cost being higher than my 440i, that’s not an issue (and is to be expected given the higher value and slightly higher performance), but over double the cost seems daft.

Not being funny, but I'd say the M3P has quite a bit more performance over a 440i, it's not far off my M5 :p

Took mine in this morning at 7 30ish for a change of the front camera cluster as the visualisation wasn't working. They rang me at about 12.30 to say all done, but there's no way I'm driving into Leeds on a Friday afternoon (1.5 hours away for me) so I'm heading there first thing tomorrow. Going to pick up some pollon filters too, as they're cheaper than the Internet and not sure theyve ever been changed. I'm going to ask how many 12v battery they've changed too. Currently rocking a 6 year old model s p85d. Weirdly feels slower than my Model 3 performance, and there's some improvements between models, but also some stupid changes (the washer atalk being one of them), I quite like the proper dash behind the wheel, but the cameras on this S are very limited with just front ones. Regen braking is also much weaker even on standard, think I gave a few people a scare as it didn't slow down as quick as I was expecting:p.

Model Y test drive booked.

If it's all good will consider trading in my M3 2019 sr+

WBAC still offering £36.3k for it! Only £1500 under what I paid 2.5 years ago!

Try a small town in East Anglia e.g. IP14 5GQ, IP32 7LH, IP24 2YD, NR34 9HN

I picked a few streets that looked relatively modern.

Trouble with postcodes is it's super granular; the road next along might be totally different if more of its residents have claimed etc. "Nice area" or whatever doesn't really directly correlate with number of claims.

It’s not as if I’m living in a dodgy area, the car is parked either in a secure office carpark, or on the driveway, and I’m only doing 8-10k per year.

I just got a quote from Admiral, £75 extra to change my 440i for a model 3 performance, £72 for a long range. I only renewed two days ago for about £340 so fairly accurate for full year to be ~£415. Not sure why you're getting such high quotes!

Could be many things, how far in the future are you asking the quotes to start? Your want it to be at least 21 days away. If you can you should apply another named driver with good ncd and no points etc. Who has been driving a long time. Also what percentage of miles are you declaring as business use, if any?

Nice Cheshire postcode, starting in March, clean license, 16yr NCD, no business usage, 8000 miles per year. Wife is on the policy, clean license, 10yr NCD. Both of us have had our licenses for over 15 years (I’ll have had mine 20 years in March).

It’s worth speaking to them, rather than just doing it online. My premium went down by taking my wife off my policy

Ultimately Admiral gave me the best usable deal by going through a multi car policy and then reducing it further when I asked them to.
