The Updated X2 3800+ Overclocking Thread ...

Nice clock weescott - good luck.

Am looking forward to when I can get mine under phase - at 2950 on air, it could be fun.
Will probably be when I get back from my next trip to Egypt in early August (although, I do have the money now...............)
I'll see how I feel about it when I get back from Shetland in 10 days time.

You can put mine in red A.N.Other. Fastest it's F@H stable is 2850 - it's prime stable at 2900 but dies within an hour of starting two F@H clients.

F@H is a much tougher test of stability than Prime imho.

Natrually! F@H is best for everything. Not that I condone using F@H for testing (and you should NOT be submitting any results obtained), but anyone reading this should be folding for Team 10. See sig.

@ weescott ... I believe you've changed your board from what I had you down with, so I've left it out in this update. Looking forward to seeing how far you / you maniacs can push that CPU :)

Well said :)

Due to the greater suitability of F@H for stability testing I intend to copy a couple of particularly tough WUs (will have to do some research) and use the copies to test my overclocks in future (without returning any results - obviously :) ).

Thanks for your input Cal_G!

TABLE UPDATED

Some people have said that steppings would be a useful addition to the table. That's fine by me - post them and I'll stick them in another column.

CPU Clock: 2.6ghz (9x290)
HTT: 290
RAM FSB: 1:1
Timings: 2.5-3-3-7 1T 2.8V
VCore: 1.62V
HT: 3x
Core: Manchester
Cooling: Arctic Cooler Pro 64, plus a 120mm fan blowing towards ram/cpu/pwmic

Can do 9x300, but becomes unstable after 40m - 1hr due to too much heat buildup.

My 24/7 clock now is 290x9.5 and 1.5V.(2.75ghz) It's not prime95 stable(at least not in this extreme heat, and I still want it dead silent :p ), but it's never been unstable during normal use(primarily gaming for load, bf2, fs2004, oblivion etc.). So as long as it's always stable, I'm happy :)

CPU Clock: 2500Mhz (for now, initial testing, might be updated later on)
HTT: 250
RAM FSB: 208Mhz
Timings: 2.5-3-3-8-1T
VCore: 1.55V (needs that to be Prime95 stable :( )
HT: 3x
Core:Manchester CDBFE 0623WPEW
Cooling: Innovatek watercooling
Mobo: DFI NF4 Ultra-D

UPDATED TABLE

I've put in a new column for steppings and gone through this thread to find all of those posted. It would be great if people in the table who know their steppings could post them so that I can add them to the table. As normal, if you're new, just post your details and I'll add you to the list.

:)

Great work, how did you know all this about me? :p

Btw, my ram speed is about 203mhz if I can remember right. My stepping I can't remember exactly, but I believe it was something lik LDBFE 0543, but I'm not sure at all

Ok, here's my stable clock(seems stable, I've ran 12 hours dual prime95 once)

2800mhz-htt 280-ram 200-timings 2-3-2-5, ht 3x- vcore 1.55V- custom watercooling- manchester core- DFI sli-dr expert
You'd already posted your details . Though if you prefer, it's because I'm psychic !

Anyway, I'll leave your stepping out for the minute, unless you can confirm it. I'll update your RAM speed later on :)

Can't see me in there yet so here's my details:

CPU Clock: 2600Mhz
HTT: 260
RAM FSB: 216Mhz
Timings: 3-3-3-7-1T
VCore: 1.53V
HT: 3x
Core: Manchester LDBFE 0622WPMW
Cooling: Arctic Freezer 64
Mobo: DFI UT nF4 SLI-D

if you mean what I think you mean by pcw then yes, mine came from there on a dodgy swap after I killed my ocuk one :p

I forget the steping, I know it started ldbhe0601 and the letters were pretty good I think possibly even the legendary UPMW.. anyway, I had it up to 3.1ghz in my shuttle under water. Thats with a rubbish mobo and a fairly lame psu so I'm hoping for big things when I get it back into a dfi mobo, maybe even from the asus its in now.

Either way they certainly weren't handing out rubbish steppings, maye if you post up your stepping and settings you might get a bit of help getting some more speed!

A.N.Other: Can u update your table with my stepping and slight improvement in overclock.
