Is this worth £38 HCigar HB40 DNA40?

no... the three people I know who has brought this mod all had issues with the 510... coupled with the dna40 issues as it's not the gold version of the board and looks.... I wouldn't accept it as a gift, not because I'm a snob; just that it would never get used over my other stuff. :)

Nice, my D2 has more of the "just been mugged" urban look about it, dropped it twice while drunk, paints chipped and the battery door had to get re shaped, still works perfectly though :D

you should see the atty marks around the 510 lol,
also I did the carbon wrap myself so its quite lame..

STOP TEMPTING ME TO THE DARK SIDE :D

Yihi is the only side ;)

Seem to have an issue.

Using the sub-ohm standard 0.5 Coil which reads in at 0.22 when firing the voltage additionally starts high then instantly drops to 1.62 and dosen't fire any higher reglardless of my wattage settings etc on the Segelei 75w with some adequate batteries according to the specifications.

Any ideas?

What tank and battery?

I thought I'd give mine a bit of a torture test and throw an RDA on with a build that could take plenty of power. The batteries are sagging extremely hard at 100w. Resting they we're showing 3.7v on both cells and while firing they're dropping to 3.11v and 3.15v

Thought i would check what my Lipo would do with similar settings.
Dual Claptons (.35 ohms) @ 100w.
resting battery charge 11.55v
3 second hit & it drops to 11.35v lowest.
I do understand peoples reservations about LiPo's(very good reasons) & my mod is pretty big but for what i use it for they seem the right move.

Just got my Uwell Crown and all i can say is wow. This is what the Triton should have been. Manages to fix my two main issues with Triton; 1) The coils aren't powerful enough for the aiflow IMO. 30w rating for a 0.4Ohm coil isn't enough and 2) the coils sit way too high in the tank.

Well machined, perfect quality. You get spare glass and 3 coils plus spare o rings. The design is much better. The coil sits right at the bottom of the tank so you do actually get 4ml of usable juice in one go. Current preference with the dual 0.5ohm coil is airflow 50% open and 65w (coil is rated to 80w).

The performance is amazing. Instant wicking with 80/20, no dry hits yet and masses of vapor and flavour. Plus you don't have to inhale like you're trying to suck an egg through a hose pipe like you do on the Triton.

Top fill works perfectly and the holes are actually big enough to get the juice straight down without needing to clean the top of the tank afterwards.

Main downside so far is it drinks the juice at a rate of knots. Done 2 tanks already and i've only had it a few hours.

For £25 this must be near the top of the sub ohm tanks? Hearing good things about the SMOK TFV4 but that needs way more power.

Only question i had was how do i tell if i'm near the limit of my battery with these custom dual coils? Normally it would be 4.2v/0.5 = 8.4 amps. My VTC4 should handle 20a but does the dual build affect matters?

Dual or single coil makes no differance, you still work out the amps based on the power you put into the coils, the only difference dual coil makes is you need more power to get them to light up lol
So a .5 single coil at 4.2v will use the same amps as a dual .5ohm coil at 4.2v... it just wont perform as well as it should as it wants more power to heat up the larger mass of metal in the coils.

You are not going to get much difference in flavour, unless you can taste the wire as some can (I get a chemical taste from NI200 so prefer Titanium as it tastes cleaner to me), the whole point really is no more burnt hits or boiling juice to release harmful crap...

Ahhh fair one and makes sense. If it is better in the long run, happy days.

My first port of call but sold out :(

If the tobeco one is the one to get, i'll grab it from someplace else in the UK, fasttech was confusing me. Will buy my D2 and some other drippers from there though .

In stock here:

ElegantVapour.co.uk - £15

ProVapes - £18.99

Kraken - £13.95 - doesn't actually say in or out of stock, but presuming its in as you can add it to the basket.

My wicking on the single coil deck of the Cthulhu V2:

Edit: It appears I was slightly wrong about the CV2 chimney not fitting over the posts, it turned out the wick ring from the single coil deck had managed to unwind and lodge its self into the chimney, stopping the dual coil deck from going in, it does now go in and about to try a dual build on it, I would still like it replaced due to the very wonky positive post.

are there different versions of the dna40? I am thinking of buying one. Can the firmware be updated on them?

This is the one I'm looking at which is a further 50% off

http://www.gearbest.com/electronic-cigarettes/pp_159310.html

Also I watched pbuardos video on TC and DNA40 and he said the coils cannot be micro coils and is more fiddly to work with Nickel. Is that true and is Nickel as easy to handle as Kanthal on the Kuro coil tool?

No firmware updates on the DNA40 unfortunately.

There's two versions and I think everything uses the "big screen" version now.

I hate working with nickel with a passion, and the coils have to be spaced (Macro coils)
