Do you know what mah your existing battery is? If it's the little stubby ego battery it'll be 650mah, and if it's the slightly longer one it'll be 900mah. You could always pick up a couple more of the same batts you have now and just swap them out when they run dry (I carry a little case with spare batts and liquid at all times), but you could use this as an opportunity to try out a cheap variable voltage battery too.

Do you vape at a desk/pc/laptop? A usb passthrough battery would mean you could vape and charge at the same time if so.

Alternatively, you could pick up a big battery mod, but they are a bit chunkier.

The itaste gets good feedback and has variable voltage and usb passthrough capabilities, but if you up the voltage (which you will when you see what it can do!) then you may find that battery life is still an issue. The ego twist is a similar product along the same aesthetic design as your existing ego battery, but with the added function of variable voltage at a low price.

The battery that I've got is a little longer than the top bit. So probably the 900

I've been in hospital 10 days so just been really hammering it, refilling it twice a day, not sure if that's really over doing it or not, 18mg strength

Now I'm home and not as board I've calmed down a bit.

So anyway im not on a pc or laptop I'm just using my phone.

What advantages will i get from one with a voltage adjustment? Just a bigger hit but using more power or if I lower it a smaller hit but saving power

Do they all use the same charger?

Just rang the shop and its a 650mah so that's probably why I'm charging is to much. Ideally I don't want to make the thing bigger is it possible to get a better battery without going bigger. If it's just slightly bigger that's fine

Yeah the 900mah batteries are well worth it imo, and they're about an inch longer, but otherwise the same size. All of the ego batteries use the same screw-in charger.

Raising the voltage on a variable voltage battery gives you more vapour and throat hit (mmm satisfying :D), but raising it too far can heat the coil too much and give you a burnt flavour or just less flavour. You find a sweet spot for different resistances/types of atomisers or liquids.

How big is the 1000 ego twist

The 900 sounds the same as mine but a little longer so that would be fine for me. But any fatter I would want a new top to go with it and that would be my stay at home one and just use the one I have now at work, pub, mates etc

Are they safe to leave on charge over night? It has a red light on the charger when it needs charging and turns to green when done. Just looks like a bit of Chinese knocked out by the millions a day charger to me so doesn't look safe. Probably is its just me been cautious

The bigger batteries are the same thickness, just longer. They feel big when you get them, but you quickly get used to them, and I actually prefer the way they feel in my hand.

I always left my batts to charge overnight. When it goes green it'll just trickle-charge it until you take it off.

Yeah pop round to your local if it's easy. I don't know how you managed with just one battery! I think 2 batteries will be fine if one is a 1000mah. That way you can use the 1000mah all day, swap out the 650 at the end of the day if you need it while you charge the 1000mah. 2 batts just makes life easier and less fraught with worry.

E: i work in Oldham literally right on the M60 (the big MEN building) and would be happy to donate some of my old ego batts if you want to pop down and pick them up?

I go past there all the time. We'll not at the moment because I've broken my leg. I could get my work mate to come to you on Thursday if that's okay. About dinner time?

I'm just doing some training this week so I don't know what times I'll be available. When you say dinner do you mean lunch? I could text him when I start my lunch and that gives him an hour to get there in (he could ring me when he gets there or something). Drop me a message in trust if you reckon that would work. If you aren't too far I could drop them up after work if you like?

Haha! Small world, I work literally next door at Electrotec. Small world eh?

So it is! There are a few vapers in my office so perhaps we should set up a liquid exchange :p

I made my first batch of e liquid but not totally happy.

I found my every day vape in the Liberty Flights XO PG 8mg Strawberry liquid, so im trying to recreate that. Although im missing the main ingredient, the strawberry flavouring im trying to find the right nic levels. I could only get hold of Peach flavouring.

I don't mean to say the XO range is less nic that it states, but I found making 8mg DIY liquid to be too strong, slight head ache and bit harsh on the throat. I've definitely got the right amount of nic in the mix (every calculator stated for 8mg strength it need to be 1.5ml of liquid (54mg base strength). I've been putting in just 20% VG which is suppose to give the throat hit, so next time ill only add 10% of VG.

I've tried to ask LF how they make their liquid but they don't know, I found they get it from ENjuice but they don't reply to my emails.

So its up to me to try to find the balance. By reducing the vg content and maybe a bit of the nic am I going in the right direction?

I use a needle and syringe to pull out the nic juice to 1.5ml. I'm wondering if the amount that is held in the needle (which is quite thick) might be putting me up to above 8mg strength. Maybe also when XO liquid is made they might skimp on the nic a bit? But that's an unfounded accusation!

Now im confused. ENjuice just emailed me to say they don't supply LF. Is there more than one ENjuice company??

PG is what gives you more throat hit, so maybe try mixing MORE VG and less PG.

Can you list the exact quantities of everything you're using at the minute? Also, I find that most liquids need at least a few hours to mix anything close to a usable state.

my vision ego and ry4 arrived today, and i have to say its fantastic! tastes like maple syrup!

:) There are lots of different versions of RY4 out there, some sweet some not. I like the ones with a soft vanilla and caramel intro and an ashy tobacco exhale. Hard to find though!

I'm not sure if you realise, but just in case...

If you've a base mixed to 18mg like you describe, once you add any concentrates/sweeteners to it, the nic strength of the finished liquid will be quite a bit less than 18mg.

You can compensate for this of course, if you assume you'll be mixing 10% flavouring roughly and just mix up the other 90% in a large quantity.

Genesis users this question applies to, do you get a lot of juice build up inside the top cap and all over the top deck, everytime i pull the cap off to fill i get juice dribbling down the outside of the tank and its doing my tree in - im going to take a wild stab in the dark and say my wick and coil are not performing well enough and its spitting juice around.

Apparently the liquid can flow down the centre of the wick (if you use a straw-style wick) and leak out the top.

i have noticed looking around the forums and looking at reviews, most expierenced vapors seem to use a tank with the punched metal cartomizer (i think its called that).
Is this because it looks better on the 510 mods or does it give a better vape then a clearomizer?

It's a way to combine the consistency of a carto with the simplicity of a tank. I've never tried it myself, but I can certainly see the benefit in theory. I just use a tank now because I can rewick it myself.

Yeah I would go for IMR batts and save the hassle. I vaguely remember reading that they handle higher volts better than the protected batteries, but I could be wrong.

I love mine, had it for a good 4 months or so and no complaints whatsoever. I've recently started using it in mini mode for when I go to work, and then full size for weekends at home or long days out. Just a great bit of kit for the price.

I'm keeping an eye on the centre pin though because I think I've over tightened a few atties and pushed it it a bit.

I'm on my phone so will answer more fully tomorrow, but there's a very similar kit at vapourhut which is better value (2 batteries, case) for £30. You will definitely want 2 batts. Better to get something with good performance and customizability since it's a long term every day thing. Glad to hear you're already getting on well with vaping, hopefully we'll get you set up with something that you like and that'll save you some dosh.

Emailed you by the way. Ta.

Also seeing that above, i have been meaning to ask..... Ohm's. Whats the difference? The ones i have are 2.4 (i think, without looking) Do i have to use another 2.4 or can it be higher/lower?

Sorry if thats a basic question, I am still very much learning. :)

Ohms become mist important with fixed or low voltage batteries. Lower ohms means a hotter coil. It is generally a good thing, but sometimes you get better flavour with higher resistance coils. I like 1.8ohms on an ego battery, but I run 2.4Ohms on my vamo/vivi nova combo.

One of the IT guys at work walked up to my desk today (they call him John the pipe because he smokes a pipe) and plonked a SS vamo with an iclear.30 on it on my desk. It's his first ecig. I think techy people are predisposed to get really into vaping because we're used to doing lots of research and fiddling :p

Dual coil is definitely my preference. I'm on the hunt for a dual coil tank that I can easily rewick. The iclear30 my colleague had looked like it could be rewicked, but twisting the legs together at the bottom without shorting the coil looks tricky.

I'd be interested to know peoples Top 3 Flavours.

1.Menthol (TEC - Titan Fluid)
2.Watermellon (TEC - Titan Fluid)
3.RY4 (TEC - Titan Fluid)

Are mine, I will be abit more adventurous next order. (Also feel free to include brand and where purchased from)

Mine change daily!

I really like nutty, caramel, tobacco flavours

1. El Toro El Cigarillos
2. El Toro Eden (I rarely fork out for the el toro stuff, but I do love it)
3. Hangsen RY4

I do vape a lot of fruity flavours though, and am a big fan of the TW gold standard fruit concentrates.

Yeah, when they stop producing as much vapour and flavour starts to go, replace them. Burnt taste could be a wicking issue which can be temporarily fixed by rinsing out the wick and drying it off.

I dumped a full tank of juice in my lap today. My colleague was telling me about an issue with his atty and I went to unscrew my nova to show him the centre post, but unscrewed the cylinder instead of the actual atty. It was embarrassing lol.
