Well I got home today, and surprise surprise!

Seems legit

No I don't but luckily I wiggled the pin up (well it kind of popped out a little) so I screwed it back down with the protank and it appears to be working! Tried it with my other batteries and they are dead though.

Ordered two more already from fasttech as well. :o

Cheap ego batts. They're hit and miss. I couldn't go back to them. I'm tempted by one of those apollo VV batts though. Maybe pop a low res nova on it for nights out.

I'm really enjoying my SVD. I didn't realise how much I would like the look of it compared to my Vamo. I wish the display wasn't sideaways, but other than that it's a great device :)

I trust you'll be furnishing us with pics? :p Really want something better than eGo batteries but not quite robot todger...

It's a fair old robot todger, but that's actually what I like about it. It looks and feels very cool. So shiny!

I have no issue furnishing you with more pics :)

Are these any good?

Seem a bit pricey for what you get. I'm not a fan of the cigarette lookalikes because the batteries don't hold a great charge, and the auto pressure switches break too easily. I would suggest a kit that comes with an ego battery and a decent clearomiser. Battery will last you all day, push button to activate so it always works, and you can refill the clearomiser with a liquid of your choice cheaply. I'm sure someone who isn't on their phone will link you to a kit that will do all that for less money than the kits in that link :)

im out of my depth with this rebuildable atomizer. im useless with my hands and this is all too fiddly and frustrating. at least i know know its not for me

It helps to have small fingers, but I would stick with it, or at least keep the materials in case you want to have another go. The savings are just so epic it's worth keeping at it. Mesh on the other hand, that takes the patience of a saint!

my device has got hot however in all the testing and mess ups. Im going to let it cool off and if it keeps doing then obviously something is wrong.

Glad you cracked it. The top cap will get hot, which is normal, and after pulsing the coil loads (poor batteries, I keep one aside just to be abused for this) the whole base can be scorching hot.

Sometimes I think I have it down pat, then I go to build a new coil and spend days trying to get it right! The wick will bed in as well, which makes it easier to fix shorts as they pop up over the first few days (this will happen!). If the wick is good, never bin it lol.

Im not a smoker (Unless im drunk) or even an ex smoker but these vaporisers have me very interested in them. Some of the things guys at work amaze me flavours wise etc.. Its incredible.. Is there something anyone to recommend to get started and some links to e-liquids for them?

It sucks as i just came from a town with a very good shop selling everything in Flintshire :/

I don't normally recommend vaping to non-smokers, but you can pick up zero-nicotine liquids and pop them in a device if that's what you fancy. A lot of the best premixed liquids only come with nicotine though so you may miss out on the favourites.

Hey bro, I wet the wick and light it with e juice and everything. The whole quenching thing, i watched it on youtube am i doing t hat wrong you think.

Probably not. I had all these problems when I first started (still do sometimes!). I presume you're already using the peter k method, so just pulse, and if you get a short/hotspot, twist the wick a little bit and try again. This seems to work for me.

Got it wicking okay now it will be okay for about 3 or 4 seconds then it starts to glow a little on the top. Using the mech mod to test this. I dont wana just burn it and it turn into an epic hotty. Hmmm Sorry for being so noob guys.

No problem dude, it took me days to get my first coil right. I was inspired by your struggle to give it another go with my RSST since the existing coil was playing up.

Here's one I made last night that was surprisingly painless (funnily enough the peter k method failed me, one coil always ends up being loose and getting hot) so I just wrapped this straight on the wick and it was fine (usually shorts every time lol)

They do but sadly they are closed now.

Nevermind lol...im still here alive, mind you its a good test of my willpower to not give in and have a cig.

Thanks for the support everyone. I just need to make sure i carry a spare fully charged battery around with me now as i vape at 4.2volts now so its no wonder the battery doesnt last as long as it used when i vaped at 3.6volts.

Do some work! I go a bit crazy when my battery dies or I run out of juice (you should have seen me when I started worrying 50ml wasn't enough for my week in Rome back in May!), so I feel your pain. I find getting stuck into something to take my mind off it helps. It's more the idea that I can't vape that is worse than the actual not vaping, so distract your brain. Go for a crafty fap in the bogs :p

Yeah, always wash your hands if you ever get juice on them, especially if you're working with concentrated Nic (wash immediately). In practice, a bit of juice on your hands is not going to kill you, but you just don't know how much Nic you're going to absorb so play it safe.

Yeah, that's the biscuit. I've got a Pro-tank 2 on my eGo...I believe they are rebuildable? Once this coil dies, I may rip the coil apart to have a look...reverse construction often works with me :D

I would go for a VW/VV device like the vamo or SVD (I like both, but the SVD feels better built to me and both can be had very cheaply from slowtech). I would definitely start recoiling your protank heads. If you're used to building RC cars then recoiling a tank head will be a walk in the park. Such good value!

So you suggest to do what I said I was going to? lol I just mixed up the recipe Grant posted a long time ago before he was 'famous'. He might have changed it a bit since then.

I mixed up an almost identical batch (50ml) and am happily vaping it after week 3. I admit I used the accelerated steep method straight away and vaped it after a few days, but it smooths out very well after 2 weeks. I can't say I've noticed any difference between weeks 2 and 3 though.

Yay/Boo it being a bank holiday weekend then....crappy ego I'm stuck with now -.-

I've also realised I bought the kit with two i30's, a protank and have two cheapy v5 clearomisers to keep me going atm but I didn't buy any replacement heads for them. BAH.

The i30s, yeah you'll need replacement heads (dual coil is a biatch to recoil), but the protank you could recoil quite easily 100 times for the price of one new head.
