Thanks man, what model should I go for?

Edit: Is it worth getting the liquid imported along with it or better off just getting that over here?

The liqua liquids are supposed to be nice. My workmate who used to smoke a pipe was vaping some Virginia pipe (i think it was called something like that) from there and it smelled really nice and oakey. I suggest the kit that comes with two batteries, two atomisers (evods are the best of the options) and a charger/case. I suggest getting a few different liquids of various nicotine strengths (10ml max) until you discover what works for you. It's very subjective so takes a bit of experimenting.

I do like a lot of liqua flavours but if it's the French Pipe, I didn't particularly get on with it. It seems to have a burnt rubber taste but I rescued it by adding some menthol crystals in PG. Now it's quite tolerable.

My flavourite Liqua flavour is Mints which tastes exactly like garden mints/softmints. If that sounds up your street, give it a try.

That's the one, and it's funny you say that because he was saying the nova he was using had menthol in previously and that it added to the flavour nicely. I didn't try it myself, but just smelling it seemed nice.

I cracked and filled a nova with my 5 day steeped (I know I know) vanilla custard DIY mix, and it's nice, but it definitely needs longer. Seems very voltage dependent too. This is the first time I've happily vaped at 8w for ages.

Keep some back and see how it improves with age. My vanilla custard mixes all smell a little perfumy but they've only been steeping for a few days.

Yeah I went balls-deep and mixed up a 50ml batch (used most of my concentrates in the process thanks to the recommendations of high flavour percentages). I just popped 3ml in a nova to see how it was going. Despite 17% flavour, it doesn't seem to be a very full flavour yet (maybe I'm spoilt on my SS wicks) so hopefully another week or two will improve it. It's very tasty so far though :)

Has anyone tried the "full spectrum extract"?

Basically vaping is nicotine.... Whereas real cigarettes have other stuff in them, apparently there are some new E-liquids which have all the alkaloids extracted so they are just like a real cigarette, not just the nicotine... Anyone tried them?

I'm not sure I want the other stuff that's in cigarettes! I know most steeped tobacco liquids do contain alkali nicotine though if that's what you mean?

And yes, we have fallen victim to this odd spate of thread title changes.

Always have a backup. I'm decided on getting an SVD so my vamo will be my backup from then on. Just sick of the centre pin issue. Only £25 from slowtech anyway.

I'm looking forwards to my mix maturing, but no French vanilla to add. I'm tempted to split some out and add a bit of graham cracker or caramel though!

Hmmm I have been googling about vaping and it says that in 2016 the government are going to ban e-cig's and make them prescription only medicines....

So it is OK to buy cigarettes... but the government is banning e-cig's "for public health because e-cigarettes are not regulated and may contain toxins".....

Sorry but that is just a money making ploy from the government and the tobacco companies...

There are big campaigns going on to prevent that directive from affecting ecigs, but if they fail, then yes it will be the stupidest thing imaginable

Smoktech RSST is a good "beginner's" Genesis, but I got along fine with the Aga T2 - once I'd got a 2.5mm drill bit to wrap my coils around.
Check my previous posts for links to the best Vamo kits on Fasttech.com, they come with a Nitecore charger which is excellent. You'll want 350 sized batteries for mini Mode, so check on Fasttech.com again for these - you'll want to pay more for decent, high mAh batteries ; it's not necessary to buy protected ones for the Vamo, but save yourself buying twice when you go for the inevitable mech mod upgrade and get them ;)

As for wick & mesh, www.vape-atomizer-mesh.com are who I use and have been great. Don't buy masses at first, I think they do a selection pack; varying grades of mesh & wire to try. Once you've discovered your perfect combination, then stock up! I'd also recommend trying a small piece of Stainless Steel rope (7x7 or 7x19), as this has been used as a wick with some great results .
As mentioned many times, YouTube is your friend. Pbusardo and Todd's ecig reviews have some clear & simple guides to follow . Both are actively involved on the larger Vaping forums.

Good luck on your journey, there's lots to learn; have patience and don't give up!

Also, once you've got a coil & wick working well, DON'T TOUCH IT! If it ain't broke, don't fix it; the cardinal rule of rebuildables! :p

This is all solid advice for anyone considering a rebuildable genesis-style atty. The vape mesh guys usually throw in a free sample of something else when you buy from them (I picked up some 0.4 ribbon kanthal for my RSST and got some 1mm silica as well, and my first A3 order of 400 mesh came with a second for free!).

0.3/0.4 ribbon kanthal are a good starting point, and 400 mesh is a good all-rounder for wick.

Hooray we're back and running as the Vapers Lounge :)

I won't be mixing my 50ml batch up just yet! I may split off 10ml to play with, but I'm committed now to letting it steep.

I started vaping my capella graham cracker today and immediately had to water it down. 10% is fine for that liquid! Very nice, overtones of cinnamon with something else. I see myself mixing it with some apple tart maybe.

We really don't know how this will play out. Worse case is you'll not be able to buy anything on the market as stands. There is a good chance even if this does come into force it will be over ruled in court (there has been lots of cases over nicotine as a medicine and all courts have decided it isn't) I saw some TW bashing but they are likely to be the people putting up a lot of the money for case if this comes to pass. They did in the USA.

The way I see it is Government know they need tobacco tax money and the anti smoking lot know if enough people use ecigs their jobs would disappear.

If you are really interested Clive bates is a good place to get the facts. He is an expert in harm reduction and public health who is fighting on the vapers side.

Very useful info. You lot may have noticed I'm not one of the vocal TW bashers, and this is exactly why. Right now, they're the the best industry face for our hobby and are forming cogent arguments in defence of vaping. Their products may not be for me, but they are quite progressive in developing a recognisable brand in what is quite a frenetic market.

Am I right in believing that the EU legal scrutiny committee have advised that the amendment is illegal? Which may give the opening to have it overturned.

Still awaiting delivery on mine, should be here by the middle of next week with a bit of luck. From video reviews and such I've read, seems to be mostly the same as the Vamo in terms of operation... really want to get my Protank off the bloody eGo battery though :(

Just bought mine. The countdown begins. I really did need a decent backup so we'll see which I prefer.

Oh I remember it and all the legal threats and knobbing about. I'm not saying they're the best company. I'm saying they are in a strong position to further our cause when it comes to the tobacco directive. They have their place in the market. I don't think we're their target audience either, but as the saying goes: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Damn Vapefest is next week - How time flies. Is anyone going?

God that was quick. It's a bit out of the way for me, but I may see if the missus has anything planned and if I'm free. Haven't been to one so could be fun.

E: apparently my SVD has shipped already! Record time for slowtech! I'm excited already.

Just ordered some of Simons Raspberry, Will give it a second try really enjoyed the flavour but in my last batch was rather subtle.

Ordered my first order from Slowtech on the 5th of August, and boom today it had been in packing most of the day then I have received an email with the photo of my shipment being shipped!

I ordered myself a Vamo and various bits and bobs, The plug which comes with the Nitecore charger, are these the ones which got spoke about many pages ago about being dodgy?

It's the wall adapter that's dodgy I believe. The nitecore charger just uses a standard figure-of-8 plug though, so swap it out for a UK plug.

You're going to like your vamo :)

Is there a cheap way of starting to 'vape' I see a lot of you order from FastTech, is this where I should be looking? The local 'vape' store has a kit that includes: 1 Atomizer, 1 Battery, 1 Case, 1 Charger and 4 bottles of juice for £30...is this a good buy?

There is a cheap way of getting started, and there are kits on fasttech (the cheapest, but slowest) that include 2 batteries and atomisers of decent quality for £20-25. I suspect the local deal won't compare as well.

I believe there have been some kits listed recently in here to check out. I'm at work so can't do much digging I'm afraid.

I'm trying to get a small mod for the missis. Something the size of an ego battery (long or short) that has a rechargeable battery. Is there such a thing?

I presume you want something other than an ego battery? I really liked the look of the apollo variable voltage batteries that someone else on here posted. Compact but still packing a punch. Alternatively, maybe an iTaste?

That vape thing looks exactly like the one in my local store...anyway, thanks for that, ordered 2 (so can use one whilst charging other) and some juice in Marlboro, Red Bull, Caramel and Minty Chocolate. I'm assuming all juice stuff works in these? If so, I'll check my local for prices as his Apple Pie flavor was fantastic when he let me test it :D

Yep, all juices will work fine, but I suggest maybe having a couple different atomisers and keeping the flavours separate. You may not like mint chocolate mixed with marlboro (you might though!). I'm a big fan of caramel flavours so let me know what you think of yours.

It does look great. The only thing that puts me off mech mods is that as your battery voltage drops, you have no way to compensate.

Just rebuilt my first Protank and Evod heads, all in the 2.0 range - not much difference between them, but the bloody Evod head just would not work correctly the first few tries, reporting as 0.1 ohm. Must have been shorting somewhere each time, took a break and did the Protank heads (both of which worked perfectly first time!) and came back to it, and bob's your mother's brother :)

I occasionally get this with my knockoff novas. Usually it means unscrewing them a bit because the positive pin isn't connected right or something. It's a pain when it happens.
