I got mine on Wednesday 2-3 hours before I got the email...

I see, thank you for that...although, nothing I'm reading is helping me...
I like the Smok-SID, the Smok-Pipe, The Gus (all of them :D) Segeli mods, K100...there are loads I really love the look off...

Haha, yeah there are lots of shiny toys out there.

What I would ask you is this: what do you want from the device? Do you want something low maintenance and easy to use, something that offers the best vape possible at the cost of time, frustration and fiddling, or something in between?

Currently you have an easy to use low maintenance device. A mech + rebuildable steel mesh atty is definitely going to be the difficult option (if you are up for a project, and are willing to treat it like a project, this is fine), and a VV/VW mod with a silica rebuildable would sit somewhere in the middle.

I don't know how patient you are with things, which is why I'm hesitant to suggest a mech, especially when paired with a steel wick atty. It can be really really frustrating at times, but when you nail it, it's great. You will get there with practice, but you need to be prepared to go through a bit of failure first lol. Silica wicks are much easier to master, so if you are set on a mech for that small form factor, I would start out with a silica wick atty.

I'm fine with learning and patience. I love the looks of the mechs and they seem simple (no wires etc) I would prefer a bottom firer. I also enjoy tinkering with things. I've rewound a motor before so I think that is harder than a tiny coil :p. Regarding atomizers, I like the look of the AGA T2 and the RSST. I would also prefer something small as opposed to a robo-wang...

Then a mech sounds good! I love my RSST, and it's easier to wick and coil than some of the other atties I've tried. Although saying that, mine has developed a leak from where the tank and the bottom piece meet. I think I'll take it apart and give it a clean.

My vaping is becoming tasteless but still producing a big cloud. Does this mean the cartomiser is running out of life?

How frequent is it expected that one should be changing the spring, wick, and cartomiser?

Cheers! :)

It generally means the wick is knackered or the coil is gunked up. You can try rinsing it out and letting it dry (important) and give it another go, but the easier solution is to bin it and replace.

Other possibilities: You have been vaping the same flavour for ages and your tongue has decided it doesn't want to taste it anymore (vapers tongue!), in which case you need to use a different flavour for a while. Or you are running your coil a bit too hot and losing some flavour in the process. Generally only an issue with VV/VW mods running on the higher end of the scale, but some flavours do like cooler coils.

Cheers dude,

I'll clean out the coil, and order a new coil regardless.

After reading a post here, may go for a pro tank 2 (will this fit on my ego-T starter kit battery, is it a 'generic' screw on size for the majority of components?), and some chocolate juice :D

Yeah, but you may want a plinth to make it look nicer and support it. Mini protank doesn't need it, but a full size protank will be a fair bit wider. It'll work fine, but won't look as nice.

That's harsh. I'm surprised more mods haven't picked up on the need for an adjustable centre pin. Same issue with my vamo

Funny you say that. I recently mixed up some apple pie and vanilla custard (it was horrible at first and needed a few weeks to steep) as well as some apple pie and graham cracker. Well today I mixed both together and pow! Apple pie with a graham cracker crust covered in vanilla custard!

What's odd is that the apple pie, despite being by far the highest percent in the mix, is barely noticeable. The main flavour was the VC, with the cinnamon sweetness of the graham cracker, and only if you knew it was there would you notice the apple tartness in the background. At first it was all apple, but steeping brought the other flavours out way stronger

EDIT: one mix was 11% apple pie and 3% VC, the other was 11% apple pie and 4% graham cracker. I reckon 11% apple pie, 1-2% VC, and 2% graham cracker would cut it. I'll make up a batch this weekend since I was planning on doing so anyway.

Currently vaping capella caramel (12%) and it's curiously good. It's not thick and creamy and sweet like others I've tried. It's almost savoury. It has a very authentic taste, but I'm not sure whether I love it or if I am indifferent. More experimentation necessary!

I pre-filled the carto on the first attempt but I guess the holes weren't big enough to keep it filled, the second attempt I drilled the holes to 2mm and pre-filled it again, the taste is there but its not as sweet.

I've tested it using some esensia toffee I got from my local e cig shop, didn't want to use my monkey jizz incase I wasted a load ;)

Nothing worse than wasting a load of jizz.

Am I right in thinking the Vamo V3 is the Vamo to get? Is the FT one any good?

e: I see above the Chi is smaller? Is it a VW device too?

The Vamo V2 or V3 are both good mods. The V3 is a bit ugly, but has a few small improvements. The alternative is the SVD. They're all much of a muchness, but I slightly prefer the feel and look of the SVD.

The Chi clone is a mech mod, so unless you are wrapping your own very low resistance coils, you're unlikely to get the same performance you could from a VV/VW mod.

I put a 1.3Ohm coil on my nova yesterday, and after the resistance dropped slightly to 1.2Ohms and stopped the SVD firing I decided to put it on an ego battery until I could be bothered to recoil it. I was surprised how well it vaped!

Guys sorry I have asked before. But what battery is best (UK based) for the protank 2. Not bothered by variable stuff. Just need a couple of batts asap

You could put it on anything really. any ego battery will be fine, but you may want a "beauty ring" or plinth since the protank is a fair bit wider than an ego battery.

ok, so low ohms = less turns (1.6ohms) = less heat?
High ohms = More turns (2.6ohms) = More heat?

Crap, no that's wrong isn't it.

I think it should be

low ohms = less turns (1.6ohms) = more heat?
High ohms = More turns (2.6ohms) = less heat?

The less resistance there is, the more current flows through the coil compared to a high resistance coil at the same voltage. More current means more heat. Other than that, you're right. Thicker wire is lower resistance (think of water flowing through a thick hose compared to a straw).

In short, on a fixed voltage battery, low resistance = hotter coil

I'm trying to work out what to wick my aga t2 to when the chi you clone turns up. I saw you said it would need to be low resistance. So I need thick wire and low turns. I don't want to damage my batteries! I can check ohms on my vv mod.

Pretty much! Something like 0.2 or 0.25 wire, or 0.4 ribbon kanthal (it's flat, so can be easier to work with on SS wicks, but silica can be done with either). Checking on the VV mod is wise! anything between 0.8Ohms to 1.2Ohms on a mech mod will be grand.

It really is not, in its SIMPLEST form you could say it is how ever it is not.

Im not smoking ****ing meth out of it or any other hard drugs.

To some ignorant baboon in HR it would look to them as if that is what it means and assume im a druggie.

They need to refer to it was what it is instead of what there dislike of it makes them think it is.

Luckily I have enough clout with managment that these things to avoid being turned into a **** storm.

But FFS.

It also does not help my new cluster manager is an "Elitist" ex smoker.

You should tell her that her coffee mug is drug paraphernalia if your ecig is as well.
