The Witcher 2 - Thread

Well just completed it, amazing game but after the opening two chapters the game lets itself down in the final 3rd. Basically no side quests and a very short chapters.

SPOILERS....

Dragon fight was far to easy as was fighting Letho for the 2nd time. It's the biggest problem with RPG's really, you become overpowered.

I chose magic to points into so I think I might play through it again on hard and chose sword fighting or alchemy and will also side with the humans.

Just wish there was more content like the 1st game really, bleh :)

If you have retail version, I suppose you can sell it, since it is DRM free since patch 1.1 and there is no registration necessary.

Strange you would never want to replay, especially since the second/third chapter is so replayable.

To be honest I got rather bored with it in the end hence why I'll never play it again. I thought it was getting a bit of a grind but wanted to finish and see the ending.

When i got to the end i felt cheated, think i'll sell it on :(

They put so much into the graphics and took so much out..

I felt it was quality over quantity this time round. The Witcher had lots of quests and an overall longer playtime however there much less variety and polish.

This has been sitting on the shelf for over a week, just now getting around to it.

Guess the import thing still needs work, as I'm with Triss in the opening bit despite having sided with Shani on that previous save?

Other than that, things seem great, gonna dig in and really enjoy this :)

I started enjoying this game but once i hit flotsam and realised to interact with NPCs i had to remove the CAP4 profiles, i then got the light bleed issue which is just too much to cope with. So im shelfing it for now. Really enjoyed it up until then. As a few people are saying they put too much effort into the graphics and not enough into the gameplay then i guess it would be foolish to not play it with all its glorious graphics options. SO im gonna get the first witcher and play that, should tide me over to a patch/driver to fix the 2nd :)

Finished this today. I agree, in comparison to TW1 it does feel short, but if you factor in the alternative path through the game it makes up for it a little bit, so it does have more re-playability than the first. Will happily play through this again taking the alternative path.

The story was better than the first, but the ending was a bit disappointing. I'm guessing Yennefer will have a more centric role in TW3.

If I compare the 2 games, TW1 wins. Even if TW2 was more polished, TW1 had a certain charm about it that TW2 was missing.

Great review, not sure about him saying that it is " very mature" and "it treats you like an adult" LOL, you might think that if you are a 13 year old boy.

Definite lol at the pokemon bit.

I don't really see what he means about fast travel though, game would be way too short and it isn't really big enough to fast travel anywhere is it? you can't revisit areas in other chapters for example.

I totally agree with him that at points in the game i was also pencilling in a 9 or even 10/10, but in the end there is just too much wrong and in the end 8/10 is about right.

Still no word from Valve/Steam about patch 1.2.

This is getting rather annoying.
On another note I just died on Insane halfway through Chapter 1, rather annoyed really.

Time to start again.
