The Witcher 2 - Thread

someone give me a heads up when they are no longer bolting stuff onto this please so I can have the best first experience possible :) playing the witcher 1 in prep so hopefully it will be nearly patch complete by the time I finish.

Only the second RPG I have played as I usually play FPS and I really enjoyed it. I think I will have to play the first one now!

Just finished my second play helping roche instead of yorveth and i thought the story was a lot better this time around. I had no idea it would change so much.

I LOVE this game i didnt think i would because i couldnt get into the first one no matter how hard i tried and with DA2 being a big dissapointment i thought i would try it and it turned out to be amazing.
Also amazing looking game maxed out

I spent a hell of a lot more time on chapter 1 than the others. i basically played the game like this

-Prologue. Nice start, sets the scene well. Enjoying it.
-Chapter 1. WOW! this is amazing. I could explore this place forever. What a game!!
-Chapter 2(Roche's path for first playthrough). OK, still enjoying it, a bit of a letdown but i'm sure it will pick up again in the next chapter when we get to the next town:)
- Chapter 3. Ok there's not much to explore here, or many NPC's to talk to. I wonder when i will reach the next town?

- The word epilogue flashes on teh screen. WTF:confused: Is that it?

As i said, i did enjoy the game, but overall i have to say i was slightly disappointed with it. A rating of 8/10 seems about right for it tbh.

Currently I'm in chapter one and loving the hell out of it. I really hope I don't suffer the same drop of quality though because right now it's incredible.

I got this in the steam sale and it just wont run, I've tried reinstalling it, verifying the cache etc but nothing, any ideas?

Not much to go on i know but it doesn't do much! :(

More info would be needed and I'd probably ask on the Steam forums.

Andi.

Just finished it last night. So so awesome and the best "proper" rpg I've played in a long time.

My biggest complaint would be the combat which just never flowed well. There was always pauses between movement and attacking that was crazy annoying. Quite a few other issues with combat too but the story line was so good i'll overlooked them.

Unlike DA2 it's staying installed and will get a 2nd play through soon :)

Would people recommend this for someone that loves FO3 but 'doesn't normally play this sort of thing' and didn't really get on with DA:O?

Depends what you liked about Fallout 3 and didn't like about Dragon Age. Witcher 2 is much more like Dragon Age than Fallout 3 but the combat is a key differentiator.

I'm on Chapter 2 now, just started before it crashed (boo!) So I'll see how I get one with it. Glad to hear not everyone thinks it gets worse.

Is there a way to censor or disable the nudity in this game ?
Also is this game different to the first ? i kinda got bored with the first game, yes i heard it got better after the first level but it really put me off playing it any more.

I should have asked these questions before i bought it, 11 quid for the steam version i guess i cant be too disappointed.
