The Witcher 2 - Thread

Weird problem, I get two mouse cursors on my screen, the normal black one for the game and one that is a like a + symbol.

It disappeared when I quit to the menu and reloaded my save.

Aarrgh I am going to destroy Amazon/ Royal Mail! tracking says it is delivered, but there is no note or anything to signify that!
Wait, i'll check outside on the vague hope that the postman might have left it there. And there it is! a small brown box left out next to the wheelie bin(due for collection today:eek:) in the rain.

Well done RM:rolleyes:

(they are lucky that i'm just happy i got the game, which outweighs my anger:p)

PS, the sarcasm symbol was justified just in case anyone though i was really congratulating them;)

I got home and its now finished downloading yay! :D

I have The Witcher 1 is it worth playing before or can I just skip to the second one straight away? (I've read the plot for The Witcher 1 on Wiki).

Damn now I can't decide between a box with stuff or the £3.50 extra for the digital and gothic 2 gold from gog because I preordered. Gog support developers + another game or retail which has a box full of stuff.

Wow, as others have already said, so much content included.

And a game guid as well, i had no idea! All for £26. Plain black box is a little strange though, nothing on the central spine(i couldn't care less anyway, just thought it was odd)

Can't see myself bothering wih all this papercraft nonsense though:p

Huh? you're making it sound like Bioware gifted us their previous games...The pc community are the people who supported the platform by spending money on said games. Bioware aren't the same company anymore. Anyway TW2 is shaping up to be a great game.

Mainly because of the slagging off of it from obvious BW/EA employees.

my comment was pretty stupid, just didn't know the correlation between the two games, witcher 2 looks awesome, has the first game aged well? im tempted to get into it

I am about 3/4 through the first game atm. I would probably say that it hasn't aged well, but i never played it when released.
It is very enjoyable, but you have to ignore a few things such as clunky dialogue and awkwardness, same character models/voices in order to enjoy it imo

Bottom line though- Well worth playing!, i would recommend it:)

why is this game a jumping off platform for bioware bashing among the community? you know ea is in charge of putting the games on shelves. why do pc gamers think bioware owe them something? shouldn't it be the other way around considering their support for the platform in the past?

Bioware was a great PC company, case in point - Baldur's Gate 2.

But DA2 has been such a disaster..

anyway, the picture just really well illustrates who cares about its customers more. CDProjekt !

The only thing that annoyed me about it. Means when I stick it on the shelf I won't be able to see what it is :(

The last one really annoyed me as the spin was back to front meaning the text was the opposite to all the other boxes on the shelf and I couldn't turn it upside down due to the labels then being upside down :(

Those butterfly (entrega) queens are damn hard!

I have just recieved an email from Amazon with a code for something called the Ultimate Swordsman Suit Pack DLC.
Great, I'll just type it randomly in to my desktop shall I?

If it doesn't come tomorrow I will destroy them!

My email came with instructions:

1) Launch the game
2) Select the 'Activation' tab
3) Enter and confirm your code in the 'Pre-order Code Redemption' box
4) Download will start automatically
5) You will receive confirmation that the Ultimate Swordsman Suit Pack is active
6) You will now have access to your item in-game when it is appropriate in the story

Your key is unique and can be activated only once at a time so do not share it. A one-time internet connection is needed to install and activate the DLC. Some items are not available immediately but instead will become unlocked during early quests so as not to ruin the story.

Revoking your key:

Use the same process as above, but enter your code in the 'Code Revocation' box instead. When you do, you will be able to reactivate it for your next install so keep your key within your game box. When you uninstall the game, you will be asked automatically if you want to revoke your pre-order item key.

1680x1050 all Ultra (+ Far LOD distance,Very Large Texture memory and 16xAF forced in NVCP) uber sampling disabled. Getting between 40-60 FPS in the screenshots below on my GTX 470@800. Hopefully that's indicative of the rest of the game.

What drivers are you using?
