The Witcher 2 - Thread

Combat is insane on hard, espically if there is 3 or more attacking u at the same time, figured out E is block but what is parry? as got the parry in all directions unlocked.
 
Sorry to be a bother but does anyone know how this game will play on my setup? If I get adequate fps I'm happy.

Also considering getting fable 3 as I think that will run easily on my pc.
 
This is ridiculously difficult even on easy. Just tried to fight the Kayran and it killed me in 3 hits.

How on earth do you actually take potions?

There was this big quest to get a potion to combat it's poison but when I try and drink the potion from the inventory it says "action not allowed" :confused:

I know you can do it from meditate but you can't meditate in this area, please tell me they weren't stupid enough to require you to drink a potion for this combat then have no way of actually drinking it.
 
Did they even playtest this?

I'm now stuck in a boss battle (It saves before the battle starts) and I can't take the fricking potion :mad:

I've done this battle 5 times now, twice it's instakilled me. One hit from it's tentacle takes off over 1/3 your health....on easy.

When out of combat, press and HOLD control. Click on Meditate, it's in the middle of the circle. Geralt will sit down and you can make bombs/traps/potions as well as drink up to three potions for buffs.

Either meditate as above or go to a crafter with the formula and items needed plus a little gold for their time.

As said I'm already in combat, can't believe they didn't think of this.

I was on my way down to the beasts lair and before I got to the area a cutscene happened and teleported me into it's lair....so I can't take the potion.

That is shoddy game design.

On my 8th time through now, dodging doesn't seem to do a thing against this boss :(

Load to your save before the last autosave if its not far behind, I did the same thing.
 
Parry in all directions is just block. Later on you can counter-attack if you get a perk in the swordsmanship tree, which seems pretty cool.
 
Well, my saga with Royal Mail continues. After it showed as "Delivered" yesterday with no card or anything, I assumed he'd left it with the scumbags round the corner. Contacted Amazon in work, and they've shipped a new one right out.

Come home, and lo and behold there's a failed delivery card waiting for me. I pop to the post office, and they tell me they've had it since yesterday. Delivered to the delivery address, my rectum!

So, since Amazon's customer service was first class and a new one's already on the way, I now have to post that one back to them. No biggie -- just print a slip and pop it in the post box.

So, I then go to install the game, but my DVD drive is playing silly buggers. Takes me about 30 mins to sort out that out.

Installed the game while building my Papercraft Geralt (LOL), and now I can't activate it. I run the Launcher, enter the key, and the launcher briefly shows "checking for updates", then closes itself.

Excellent! :(
