The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Colour banding at night is very annoying, I'm sure it wasn't there when I first played it.

Every thing is on ultra/on, running at my native 1080p or 2560x1440 using DSR the banding is at night is still there.

Drivers are the latest available (352.86). In the Nvidia settings under change resolution every thing is as it should be, colour depth 32bit, output colour depth 8bpc, colour format RGB, dynamic range is set to full.

11hrs into the game so far and not a single crash or issue of any kind, apart from the nighttime sky banding.

Is that afterburner you are running for the OSD? If so , what version?

Quick question guys my rig is running the game maxed at high 30s fps average with lows of mid 30s and highs of low 40s. Everything seems nice and smooth and I refuse to turn down settings, however will capping the fps down at 30 fps make things smoother at all or do all the fps count?

Can barely see any banding on my 29um65 in those screenshots and even then, I have to really go looking for it.

What monitor are you using? Calibrated?

You have to be a bit careful tbh, I find if I cap a game at 60fps you still might get a 5fps dip for whatever reason, so now I cap games at 70fps and if it dips it will only dip to 65 instead of 55. This is just what I have come across as a game can dip 5fps for no real reason. So depending on what hertz your screen is you will notice the fps drops below that no matter what. Hence with mine being 60, if I cap at 70 and it drops to 65 I wont notice it at all.

I have a 60hz 4k screen, Ive never dipped to 30s that Ive seen, but will capping at 30fps really be smoother than running around high 30s average?

Is there a way to monitor fps in-game with SweetFX running? I'm noticing some annoying stutters and these don't feel like typical framerate drops. I might be wrong though, as even dropping from 60 to 55 can cause stuttering so I need to check it. I've set maximum pre-rendered frames to 1 in the control panel but that doesn't seem to have helped much.

and whats meditating supposed to do, does nothing for me.......or appears to....

ah right, I have it on "blood and broken bones" so it doesnt heal... :)

There's an ability that regenerates health in the daytime and swallow potions give beasty health regen.

Lol swallow, it's a white potion too

Completely stuck on the werewolf quest. It regenerates health far too quickly. Must be a bug surely?

Also getting really annoying all of the fast travelling now. There are hardly any merchants, and those that there are do not have anything!

Overall, disappointed in the second area you get to. Zero reason to revisit any of the small villages (or even to go to most of them in the first place).

Same here. Even lowered the difficulty settings but still can't get him. Seeing I killed the gryphon on my first go I thought this should be just as easy. It's not.

It is and I'm using version 4.1.0, works flawlessly.

I using a TV as my monitor, only eye calibrated. I have two 32" TV's, the main screen is connected via a HDMI to DisplayPort adapter (model LG 32LB580V), the second screen is connected directly with HDMI (LG 32LN575V). Tried the game on both screens and they look identical.

Not all games have this issue, GTA 5 is perfect at night, as is Skyrim, The Crew, Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor and many others that have a night sky.

Tried a few gradient test images online and the gradient images look pretty smooth.

Got it running great now 50-60 fps @ 1080p

i3 4330
8GB RAM
Gtx 780 @ 1215MHz/7Ghz

Everything ultra except below, all post processing on with hbao

shadow quality high
Foliage visibility range high

Surprised it's running so well on a i3

Same. Managed to build myself back up to 300 Orens before accidentally selling a pair of sweet boots then having to buy them back at a vastly inflated price. Felt like chopping the trader's head off but didn't dare try hence having a whole garrison on top of me at lv4
