The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Not had any crashes with this game apart from some early lockups in the inventory screen (witcher beta driver & the beta before that one.)

Runs like a dream for me with everything on ultra except hairworks (off) motion blur (off) number of background characters (high) & capped at 30 fps.

I know some of you will run screaming but it works for me & I get a rock solid 30 fps. My clocked 7950 can push higher fps of course but I have to start turning stuff down & the fps fluctuates too much.

Still only level 5 in velen - going to take me a long time to finish this but damn it's good:)

I thought you deleted those earlier though? How did they get back in?

I haven't played since 1.05 hit so I plan to do so today and hope it will be smooth sailing as the game so far has been robust.

I activated the Elite Crossbow DLC, and bam instant crashes again.

Now I can play again, but after 1-2 hours the game just crashes again, with Windows saying Witcher 3 has stopped responding.

Up to patch 1.03 I never had issues at all. :(

Haven't played this in a week or 2 because of the xp bug etc. and was hoping this patch would fix everything but it just seems to have made things worse for you guys so looks like I'll hold of playing till the next one :(

I cant seem to get your sweetfx working with 1.05 patch, any ideas? It was working fine before mate

I had a similar problem after the patch, just had to put one of the files back in the games directory as it got removed with the patch! Google had the answer via a reddit post, cant remember the file off the top of my head but works fine again now!

It's such a damn shame as well! I just do exploration around the Skellige Isle now, as it's impossible to start a quest chain and finish without it crashing.

Even so, and despite my 'slight' addiction to the game, I've only gotten 54% competed apparently.

I don't think that is 54% completion. You have got 54% of the achievements.

Still enjoying this, but finding the new area after white orchard to be really annoying - most of my current quests are a high level. I don't mind the challenge, but it means I out level a lot of the quests. So I have now had to seek out every quest board in order to pick up the lower level quests. When travelling across the world there seem to be no set level areas, it all seems to be random? Bit of a pain at times.

Level 10 here - just - wondering around Velen swamps came across an Earth elemental with ?? as it's level!! I ran away.

Velen was difficult to start as it seemed to jump difficulty but I'm getting used to it now.

Andi.

how does everyone play thing game, do everything in valen then move on or skip between areas. i barely touched the main quest as there so much else to do.

I just do the side quests that sound interesting and then main story once I can't find any more interesting ones.

I haven't bothered with Witcher contracts since around level 10.

Thast what Im currently trying to do. Finish one area before moving to the next.

At least make sure all side quests and all ? are uncovered, before moving on.

Yeah same. I stopped playing because of the XP bug but was doing the same thing. The main quest wants me to goto Skeleleigige next however so much of Valen still remains untouched and I'd really like to finish them off before moving on. That said, I'm dying to meet Triss...

Skipping between areas is definitely the best way to play the game...
you don't really need to switch between them anyway, as the main plot does send you to each area more than once so it is best to save some stuff for later.

Not entirely possible to do everything in Velen, since any things are level 24-even 32 there.

As you progress through the story and side quests you do return there to different parts. After White Orchid the zones are not for a specific level range, they're somewhat dynamic.

Some quests as you explore won't even appear until you've done things elsewhere. Some times involving other side quests, or even just dialogue, or the time of the day.

Hell I'm level 33, and just ran into a level ?? Archgriffon while sailing about Skellige. Managed to take it down as well after a good few tries, even used decoctions for the first time ever.

For me Skulled and ?? level enemies are simply super fun challenges as well.
