The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

I also wanted this on Steam but the significant price difference made me go with GOG. Not had a problem with the galaxy client at all. Seem slicker and quicker than Steam to.

I see, thanks.

I've been trying to buy it for the last 3 hours. Unfortunately I am from Greece and because of the Capital Controls I am unable to. I tried 5 different key stores+ Steam, got rejected everywhere. I was luckier 10 days ago when I bought Black Ops 3 from instant-gaming on my first try. Retail is not an option because I don't have a DVD. I guess I'm gonna have to wait :(

Edit- Tried a different card and it got accepted :D

Bethesda do great expansions, though.

Eh, it's hit and miss. Shivering Isles was their best expansion work to date, followed by Point Lookout. The rest of their DLCs were mostly meh or terrible (Zeta/Anchorage, ugh).
None of their DLC/expansions are as good as Hearts of Stone though. And I suspect Blood and Wine will up the ante even further.

You wont regret it, only thing i regret is not playing witcher 1/2 first because of how the stories and characters are so intertwined, missed out on so many references in witcher 3 because of not playing the first two. going back and playing the second now and then going to do a newgame plus with imported witcher 2 save on witcher 3 :P

Truly the best game I've played in ages! Just finished the main quest and heart of stone. Fantastic all the way through. Heart of stone is a superb addition.

Tried playing a couple hours of Fallout 4.....and well..meh! maybe try it again in the future when I'm bored. Dunno what all the hype is about, Fallout 4 seems really poor by comparison :-(

Wonder when the next installment of DLC is coming out, can't wait.

1.10 was an absolutely massive patch, I don't think it would make a huge difference if there was a 1.08 to 1.10. Don't worry, it will be worth it! :)

Same here

I'm playing Fallout 4 and its okay, but it does pale in comparison, they definitely raised the bar with Witcher 3 (massively so), and with Fallout 4 they've not really made any significant progress over 3.

Blood and Wine was supposed to be Q1 2016, but I just googled it and there were various reports it had slipped and is now just down for 1st half of 2016. Its a shame, but sure it will be worth the wait.

I'm leveling far too fast :(

I've stopped picking up quests and I'm trying to clear off all the side quests I can, but now I'm forced to pick up the main story again. I just got to Skellige Isles but have left them almost immediately after the burning boat scene (trying not to spoil anything). So I'm back in Novigrad just doing side quests. Which I really enjoy as I'm a completionist.

I looked at a couple of mods, but they are all for increasing the XP rate (why on earth would you do that?).

In short, I'd simply like to stop getting XP from quests, or at least side quests. And turn it back on when I tackle the main story again.

I posted this a while back, not sure if you found this mod as well, otherwise one setting seems to be in your favor if you want less exp. Good luck !

I did find it annoying that I out levelled stuff, but at the same time I don't really like games that scale quests/enemies. Wish they'd just lowered the XP gain a bit, there were so many side quests I didn't do because of it, obviously you don't want to have a situation where you need to grind but they'd included more than enough content.

This mod might be for you then, I have not tried it myself though so part from what says in the description I don't know anything about it.

Better Experience Curve
A quick overview of the different experience curves he done.
FEATURES:

Feline: You will most likely be around late 60s by the end of the game. The goal of this setting is to let you use higher leveled items and have much more perk points and therefore you will be able to focus two skill trees at once(e.g. Combat-Alchemy combination) rather than being force to play in a single style throughout the game.

Griffin: This setup is pretty close to default settings, so why does it exist? It basically offers a smoother curve and slightly reduces the XP needed for each level, so you will have slightly easier progression while leveling and also be able to get slightly more levels. You can think of this as an enhanced default settings.

Ursine: Leveling is slightly slower than before, this is usually for those people thinking that they are leveling too fast early on in the game and therefore outleveling main quest line in the end. I believe this setting slightly eliminates that problem although it still depends on how you play the game.

Wolf: This setting fits well if you are a completionist type of player. Searching for an ultimate challenge at the highest difficulty? You like to finish every possible quest and don't enjoy rushing main questline but still want to enjoy it without being too overpowered just because you leveled too much by doing side quests? Well, I can honestly say, Wolf is for you. You most likely won't even reach LVL35, even if you finish every possible quest.

Probably several other mods that do the same but that's what come up after a quick search. :)

Oh yea, gear.... Hmmmmm, is there a list of story missions with their level requirements?

I'm worried I'll plough through the story until I'm too low level, only to find out I've finished the main story before I'm level 30?

I can't see it being long until I reach level 30! Currently 16.

Well I just finished this game. Was a great experience. I did most of the side quests I came across, though a few Gwent and Fist Fighting quests still remain in my log. I was level 35 come the end and damn that final boss was super easy, even on the 2nd hardest difficulty.

Quick Q gents.... I'm approaching this game again after having a break. My version is 1.03 - Do I need to patch-up in order ro can I just go straight into that huge 1.10 patch which is 16gb+ ?

The latest patch is 1.11. If you are playing this on GOG turn auto updates on and it should install everything needed. Not sure about Steam version though.
