The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

So I completed the game last month after sinking 74 hours into it, becoming the Gwent champion of the world and getting a decent ending.

I'm considering purchasing the DLC and, whilst I loved the game, I feel like it's just going to be a bit 'samey'. Anybody have a similar experience and think it's worth it or not?

Its not samey and definitely worth playing IMO, its more of an expansion than DLC

The dlc is awesome. Highly recommended. Like said above its an expansion rather than dlc. Another 10+ hours of just as intense story (plus more map but I think they put that in with one of the patches) with some really cool bosses and gear!

If I buy the expansion pass do I get Hearts Of Stone and then the next DLC whenever it's released?

(I wrongly assumed they were both already released)

Yup. I got the expansion pass the day of release. Blood and Wine should be making an appearence this side of the year.

Is there not going to be another Witcher game or do you mean last for this game?

They repeatedly said this is last Witcher game starring Geralt. There might be another game set in this world, but given how busy they will be with Cyberpunk, any future possible Witcher game is a very long way off.

Aww, that's a shame. I guess I still have the Witcher 1 and 2 to do yet. I'll have to check that Cyberpunk out, if TW3 is anything to go by i'm sure it'll be an awesome game.

Witcher 3 won Game Developer's Choice award and its total tally is now at 251 GOTY awards, making it the most awarded game of all time (Last of Us is second with 249 GOTY awards).
Congrats CDP, deserved so hard.

That's awesome. Exceptionally well deserved too. I can't see them NOT coming back to this universe. Maybe with another Witcher and have Geralt make a cameo appearance of him and Yennifer in their later years.

Although whatever CDPR choose to do will be awesome and an instant buy for me.

Yeah I think we can expect another game in this universe in 2021 or later, just too bad it won't be starring Geralt. Personally I wish they would reconsider, I am not interested in a custom character or new one. Leave that to Cyberpunk :)

I can't wait to get stuck into the DLC.

Question,
I've got to the main quests (can't remember the name of it) where I've had the huge fight with the bears and a new queen was appointed (in my play through anyway). No I've been tasked with speaking to 3 different leaders. I've spent the past month on and off playing this and doing side quests/contracts. as I'm level 26 and the main quests are 22. But wanted to clear off a load of old low level stuff.

Now I've caught up, how much more of the main story have I got left? 10 hours? 5?

Really, REALLY don't want it to end :(

You still have to find Ciri, and then after that is still goes on for a decent bit.
Definitely more that 10! I'm currently replaying it again, so the exact length of the end game bits has gotten a bit hazy for me. Dont worry about that, just enjoy it, theres more then enough to keep you going for a good while :)
